Grupotel Orient in Mallorca advertises itself as a four-star establishment, but in reality, it is more akin to a good three-star hotel. While it was clean, the facilities have clearly aged and no longer meet the standards one would expect from a four-star property. The hotel staff were quite authoritarian, creating the impression that they were looking for any opportunity to impose rules, which negatively affected the overall experience. Another downside was the air conditioning system, which could not be adjusted to the desired temperature but was instead set according to the hotel's preference. Additionally, the pool and sun loungers were insufficient for the size of the hotel, which has seven floors. Even at the pool's opening time at 10 a.m., there was already a queue for sun loungers. On the positive side, the hotel is well-located, just a 15-minute walk from the beach. The beach itself was a true oasis of relaxation, with a beautiful sea that made the effort worthwhile. In conclusion, the hotel does not live up to its four-star rating, and the overall experience was mixed, with both positive and negative aspects.

Nice hotel

Hotel was very clean as were the rooms. Majority of staff helpful and polite. One draw back is that there is quite a steep hill up to the entrance. On the whole I would return.

Unique part of the hotel was friendly, helpful and very kind of staff they had. I would like to recommend to everyone to stay ın Grupotel Orient, where we felt safe, welcomed, enjoyed every minute of our stay. The night shows and kive musics were also good surprise. Thank you for management who thought about every details to make their guests to feel comfortable like at home and thank you to all workers of the hotel, who did not work to just earn a wage but put their good heart and lights on work and services.

Good value for money

Pleasant solo stay during the first week of October, but the weather was a bit hit and miss and not warm enough for pleasant swimming in my opinion. The hotel is really good value for money with the inclusive buffet meals and unlimited use of the outdoor pool and the spa/wellness centre which includes a wet and dry sauna and indoor pool. If you're a light sleeper I'd advise requesting a room on the rear side of the building. The front side can be subject to noise from entertainment out the front. I requested to move and was given a quieter room without issue.

Good food, rooms but no parking & terrible manager

I was staying at the orient for one night on a stopover and overall the hotel was great, reception staff were great. Food was good and I really enjoyed the hotel overall. I only had one issue and that was with the manager. First of all I was stopping over for one night only and I would have a hire car so I chose this hotel as it clearly states that it has free parking. As I was unable to find the parking I pulled up outside the hotel (which is on a side street and not in a very busy area) in a spot designed for the shuttle bus, as I was only going to be there for 2 minutes while I ran in to reception to ask them whereabouts the parking was. It was approximately 00:00 and just as I got out of the car a person who told me he was the hotel manager immidately rushed over the me and told me that I must move immediately, I said sorry is it okay if I leave it there for two minutes to go and speak to the reception about parking. Immediately and aggressively he said "no you must move the car now and I am copalling the police" I was shocked to say the least and I said I'm sorry I don't think that's necessary it's only for a minute while I run in and ask about parking. Very abruptly he responded with "there is no parking, I'll call the police. Park somewhere else" I said I'm sorry but where am I supposed to park? The hotels.com website clearly states free parking" He said that these aren't the hotel website so it's none of his concern and mentioned the police again.

Perfect for a few days away.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and modern throughout, room was amazing and cleaned daily. Food was superb, all diets catered for and very tasty. Can't fault the hotel at all and i got it at a great price and was upgraded to a double room from a single. Would definitely return. 10 minutes from the airport by taxi, near to a bus stop to take you to Palma, and 5 minute walk from the beach. I think I was the only English person there as everybody else seemed to be German, but I travel to get away from home so this suited me just fine :-)

Very rude staff in hotel's restaurant.

I bought a full board with this hotel, meaning breakfast, lunch and dinners were included. On our second day waiter at the restaurant was super rude during lunch. He was telling me that our names were not on the list. He was very agitated, yelled at us in front of other patrons. I firmly asked him for his name, but he covered his name tag and run away. It was very humiliating scene. I have complained to the hotel's manager, but he told that he already spoke to the waiter and apparently the waiter thought that we are from another hotel. He sent us a bottle of wine, but I felt that the whole situation was completely mismanaged and the waiter never apologised to us. One thing I would suggest - simple wrist bracelet appropriately colour coded would eliminate this type of situation in the future. May be recognising that some waiters are more suited to work as security officers would be a much better fit, would also help. The whole incident left a really sour taste and I am not planning to return to this hotel.
