The Space:

Morning light spills through tall chalet-style windows, revealing layered mountain ridgelines stretching for miles. Perched high on Highland Springs Mountain, this lofted chalet cabin offers a peaceful retreat where nature sets the pace and views take center stage.



The space

The cabin is newly renovated and thoughtfully arranged with an open, lofted layout that feels both airy and cozy. The main living area features expansive windows, and a Smart TV for streaming your favorite shows. Wifi and a dedicated workspace make it easy to stay connected when needed, whether you’re taking video calls or settling in with a movie after a day outdoors.



Sleeping arrangements

The loft-style bedroom overlooks the valley and is furnished with a queen bed positioned to catch the early morning light. In the living room, a sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space, allowing the home to accommodate up to four guests comfortably within its open-concept design.



Kitchen and dining

The fully stocked kitchen is equipped for preparing meals at your own pace, with space to cook, gather, and unwind indoors. Whether you’re making a hearty breakfast before exploring or a simple dinner to enjoy, everything is set up for easy, relaxed meals.



Outdoor living

Step outside to experience the mountain setting year-round. The hot tub offers a welcome contrast to chilly days, perfect for soaking while taking in sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. This is a true mountain property, and AWD or 4X4 is recommended. Nearby, you’ll find access to ATV off-roading, the Potomac River for boating or kayaking, and expansive public lands for hiking and wildlife viewing. Whether you spend your time exploring or staying in, the setting encourages a slower, more grounded pace.

Note

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. AWD or 4X4 is recommended. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, there are many side roads that are gravel or hard-packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front-wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low-profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.



Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!



We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
