Play for me.

Situated in the lovely town of Caldas da Rainha, the D. Carlos I park is a gorgeous 19th century romantic garden situated in the historic centre of the town.

This refreshing green area used to work as a complement of the important Thermal Hospital that named the town of Caldas da Rainha (“Queen‘s Baths“).

During the 15th century the Queen Dona Leonor, wife of king Manuel the 1st, tried the therapeutic waters of Caldas da Rainha and a long lasting wound was at last cured, after many other treatments and medicines that did not work out. As the Queen realised the excellent characteristics of the waters, she ordered the construction of a thermal Hospital in 1485. The location started developing around this central Hospital
