Cobbly Lane, Avonwick. This shady and cool bridleway runs alongside the River Avon for a short distance, and was part of the old pre-car road between Diptford and South Brent. It's one of the archetypal "Green Lanes" of the South Hams and has an uneven cobbled surface, which was repaired by Devon CC some 20+ years ago. During winter and despite the new drains it often floods when the river goes over its banks. See 1066380 for an image of the Interpretation Panel.

River Avon from a small un-named packhorse bridge This old bridge carries the following warning from the Parish Council: DANGEROUS BRIDGE. ITS USE IS NOT RECOMMENDED. The steep uneven-ness of the approach made getting this picture a labour of love. I think it was worth it, but I didn't hang around!
Lodge House, Avonwick. This probably Victorian lodge cottage is at the drive entrance to Black Hall in Avonwick, although it doesn't seem used as a drive nowadays. It is diametrically opposite to the Toll House across the main road bridge over the River Avon, and the designs do mirror each other, it can just be seen to the left in the geograph image of the Old Toll House 39583. Its charming and reflects the quiet pace of its time, but its probably quite noisy as it is next to a "c" class road [once a "B" road downgraded in an unsuccessful attempt to reduce traffic flows] that has become a rat run between the A38 and Totnes with an alarming and increasing record of traffic accidents, usually speed related.
