Flagler Retreat is ready and waiting the next time you need to get away from it all. This bright cabin boasts panoramic woodland views that will help you shut out your usual daily stresses. The wraparound deck provides an excellent vantage point for you to spot the local wildlife by day or stargaze by night. You may be secluded, but you won't have to miss the comforts of home; with a full, well-equipped kitchen, you'll be able to prepare homecooked meals before gathering around the antique teak dining table. Enjoy the miles of hiking trails and beachcombing at Fort Flagler, a kayak tour of Kilisut Harbor, or paddleboarding in Mystery Bay. Take in the views of Puget Sound over a salmon burger and milkshake at Fort Flager's Beachcomber Café (closed in the winter). And after a day of adventuring, get cozy back at your retreat with a fire in the woodstove. The loft has two separate sleeping areas and a balcony.

This is a really sweet cabin with a beautiful mix of antique and modern furnishings. It was clean and well-stocked. The time spent indoors was lovely. However, we had also hoped to spend time outdoors on the property and walk down to the water or to the state park, but found that the huge population of mosquitos in the yard made that unappealing. We actually ran between the car and the home to avoid being mobbed by the mosquitos. I'm not sure what, if anything, the owners could do about this. But future guests should plan to spend time indoors or away from the property, not outdoors on or near the property. Overall I still enjoyed my stay here.

Beautiful island
The cabin is beautiful, location great, but it needs improvements. From my experience, properties managed by companies and not directly by the owners are always like this. The AC didn't work, I reported it but no one contacted me back, thanks God only the first day was sunny and hot. We just kicked off the covers and opened the windows after mosquitoes calmed down. Mosquitoes, you would expect screened window, but the screens are broken or absent. The sink leaks, it has a bowl underneath to collect the sink water, you have to watch it or it will overflow into the kitchen floor. I was in vacation mindset so I didn't make a problem of this, but the cabin needs maintenance quickly.
