The location is the best in Nice. Literally right in the middle of the best of Old Town Nice. Half a block from the bakery with the best chocolate croissants and baguette on the planet. Hotel staff was amazingly nice & helpful. The red carpet is as ugly as it comes. The shower pedestal causes repeated stubbed toes even through you know it’s there. The mattress could have been better, but then again it could have been worse. All in all the place was good enough for the price.

The hotel is exellent and very central, on the corner of the pedestrian area, full of restaurants and shops.The staff is very friendly and helpful.The room was very clean. I would gladly return.

Front desk staff were courteous and professional. The hotel is located in the heart of the shopping district just steps from great restaurants and shops. Top marks all round!!

The location for exploring Nice was excellent. 50 yards from restaurants for breakfast or lunch or dinner. 200 yards from the promenade Anglais. 300 yards from the old town. Easy to get to trains, buses and trams The hotel room was comfortable although we had a minor issue with the shower. The hotel does breakfast (good choices) at 20 euro but breakfast is available nearby for half. The reception was always friendly and arranged for our taxi to the airport (40 euro).

Excellent location, staff, overall experience

Absolutely amazing location, so close to the beach. We had a small balcony to sit on in the evening and look out at the busy streets and stunning architecture. The staff at Hotel Suede were very kind and helpful, gave us tips about where to eat and what to see. I think Nice is the best place I’ve ever visited, and this was a very affordable hotel to stay at. Will definitely recommend this location to friends and be back again!

Uncomfortable Stay

Room very small, I know I was a solo traveller but room not much bigger than the bed. No air-con very warm overnight meant sleeping difficult, no external window, window opened up onto a central void space. Overnight was bitten by bugs all over my body.

This hotel is within easy walking distance of Nice old town, beach and other main places of interest. The surrounding area is full of restaurants and shops. Staff at the hotel are excellent, happy to answer questions and advise. The only negative is that the hotel is a bit dated and needs attention e.g. the decor is dated and our twin room only had two working plug sockets and they were not in a convenient place.

The reception staff weren’t friendly. There wasn’t even a kettle in the room, and not a single bottle of water in the fridge upon arrival. On the first day, there were two body shampoos, but they didn’t provide any more despite our request. The breakfast was very, very basic. Overall, in my opinion, this hotel was 1 or 2 stars, not 3.
