Wonderful get away!

Wendy and Mark could not have been more welcoming!Although we were well aware, people looking at The Salty Dog need to understand that this listing is for the bottom level of the cottage. It is cozy, well decorated and very clean! Loved our stay!!

Dogs and heavan

Our stay was incredible. The property was even more charming than the photos. The backyard with the fire pit and dock with grill and table seating was a getaway oasis. In this day and age we so appreciate owners who understand that dogs are part of our family and we don't want to leave them behind when we travel. We have family in Little River and have been searching for years for someplace we could stay with our dogs that was just like home and we found it! We will be staying here every time we travel to visit our family. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay.

The Best Place in Cherry Grove

We have always wanted to take our 2 dogs to the beach so when we decided to celebrate our 30 yr. wedding anniversary at the beach, we looked for a place that would allow dogs. And I’m here to tell you we found the absolute best place - the Salty Dog Cottage. The owners Wendy & Mark were so friendly and helpful and they truly made our stay perfect! From the fresh flowers and dog treats when we entered the cottage, to the book on the counter explaining how everything worked and where everything is. It was so clean and decorated so pretty, Wendy also gave great recommendations for places to eat and go in the area - she truly thought of everything. We have been coming to Myrtle Beach since the mid 80’s and this was our first stay in Cherry Grove. It quickly became our favorite area - we cannot wait to go back. I would highly recommend staying at the Salty Dog Cottage - literally the best cottage we ever rented from and we look forward to staying there in the future. We loved our stay there so much - truly the best!

Cozy Downstairs Cottage

We enjoyed a long weekend at the Salty Dog Cottage. The host and hostess have thought of everything you may need during you stay. The location was great! Pretty view of the inlet and just a short walk accross the street to the ocean. Close to restaurants and grocery store. We enjoyed our time and would recommend this property!

Salty Dog Cottage A Plus

My wife and I spent 3 days at The Salty Dog Cottage this week with our dog, Livie. Wendy and Mark are great hosts! Communication is easy and always friendly. This is a well appointed space, clean, relaxing and very pet friendly!

short walk to beach

We very much loved the location-a short walk to the beach and the dog friendliness of this rental. Wendy, the owner, was responsive and thought of nice extras- like welcome snacks for the humans and adults. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked for cooking meals and the porch and small grassy area was lovely. We enjoyed sitting by the propane firepit and used the Weber grill. The information notebook was helpful to find nice restaurants closeby. We picked this unit for its ability to hold six adults. One in our party was not able to attend so we had five adults. It was a tight squeeze. One of the adults tried to sleep on the fold out sofa and found it very uncomfortable. We also found the strong smell of the plug in air fresheners in parts of unit overwhelming and unpleasant. The owners live upstairs and the unit is not sound proof. You can hear walking and their dogs barking. This didn’t bother us, but renters should know this information. Overall, we had a very nice visit and would recommend, especially if you are looking for a dog friendly space close to the beach. up.

Great location and perfect for pets

Cute cottage so close to the beach. We had a great time there with our chocolate lab. Beautiful views of the marsh from the cottage. It's short walk to the Heritage Shores Nature Preserve and Cherry Grove Point which are both so fantastic for walking with or without dogs.

Great Location

We had a wonderful time here. The host was very responsive to questions or requests. The location was fantastic. Their welcome book had lots of great recommendations to area restaurants, etc. The house was immaculate and updated. The dock overlooking the water was very relaxing. We are very glad we came.

Beautiful Channel Home

The Salty Dog was as advertised. Wendy and Mark were super helpful and great hosts. We enjoyed the channel view, fishing, corn hole, fire pit as well as khaki on the channel. We would strongly recommend anyone to rent the Salty Dog and we will stay again. Also the Dogs love it as well.

Salty Dog

What a gem of a property and community! It was so appreciated to be able to bring our dogs to a resort area with us and Wendy and Mark could not have been more welcoming to all of us! This community feels like a home and we were hosted like personal guests. The place was spotless, check in was smooth and recommendations were just right. Beach vacation

My family and I enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the backyard with a nice breeze and beautiful view of the marsh. Short, easy walk to the beach. Beach was nice with not too many people crowded in space, not too many sea shells that it hurts your feet and the water wasn’t too rough to be able to get in. My dog absolutely loved playing fetch on the beach and getting in the water!!! Loved the beach stuff the house offered, made it very convenient to not have to pack all of that stuff too. Kitchen was well stocked. The owners were available and responsive, enjoyed talking with them. Overall would definitely stay again!

Charming Salty Dog

The Salty Dog was just as lovely as the photos we saw online. It's has beautiful water views and is a short walk to the dog friendly beach. Wendy and Mark were wonderful hosts and thought of every detail. From snacks for both us and our pup upon arrival as well as a very detailed Welcome Book with information about the apartment, dog friendly restaurants, and things to do in the area. They were readily available in the event we had any further questions or needed any assistance. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Relaxing Thanksgiving!

Wonderful ! It was meant to be .. our staying at the cottage. Hosts were wonderful , cottage immaculate, close to beach . We enjoyed the fire pit after Thanksgiving dinner and the water . Very quiet and we napped in the Carolina room because the dogs loved being out there. Thanks to our hosts for making it perfect ! The Millers

Beautiful place !

The Salty Dog cottage was so lovely and so peaceful ! The beach was just a walk across the street . Wendy and Mark were so pleasant ! We brought my elderly Dad , he had the best time relaxing in the backyard area over looking the intercostal. The area was just perfect . Not far at all from any grocery store or any local restaurant. We so recommend this place . I forgot to mention dog friendly too ! We brought our golden doodle and cockapoo. Perfect stay 😎☀️🐶🐶

Everything regarding our stay was good. Owners were very easy to contact and attentive to any questions we had. The location is great! We enjoyed the Carolina room and views of the canal and the beach was a block away. Easy access to everything.

Wonderful cottage

The cottage was beautifully decorated and clean. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the dock watching the fish jump and the beautiful view. Just a short walk across the street to the beautiful beach. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We will stay here again.

Second time

This is the second time that my wife, twin boys and mini golden doodle have stayed at the Salty Dog. We love the location and how close it is to the beach. The place is always well stocked, clean and beautifully decorated. Wendy is a delight to deal with and very responsive. She is like a family member and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
