Worth the money

With the elevators is big demand, we were able to use the stairs for grocery shopping. The Unit is well equipped with plenty of pots and pans. The kitchen and living room are updated and comfortable. The bathrooms could be better. They are clean and everything works they are just a bit "tired" looking. Wish there was more space (like an extra night stand or chair in the two queen bedrooms) instead of an additional twin bed.Expected at least a "starter" amount of dish detergent, washing machine, and sink cleaner. There were NO extra garbage bags for either the kitchen or bathroom wastebaskets.

A Renter's Review

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Even with problems in the condo itself, I had a good time staying there for I love Surfmaster's location and view. My late husband and I came here in the summer of 2020 and I continue to come with other family members. In fact, I recommend Surfmaster and Garden State Realty to my family and friends. My son and family was in another condo in the same building whiIe I was renting. My problem is not with Surfmaster: it is with rental management. Their representative called me soon after I returned home to tell me that I had broken a box spring in the room that my daughter, age 56, was staying. If we had broken the box spring, I would have told you and not hidden it like someone before us had done. When I rent a vacation unit I expect VISIBLE damage to be fixed before I arrive. The box spring was visibly broken upon arrival. My daughter tried to fix it, thinking slats had slipped out. When she raised the mattress on the box spring there was a note taped saying not to move the pillows stacked there (presumably to mask the broken box spring). So she didn't which she would have to do to put the slats back in place. She moved to another bed in the room for our week's stay. When we left she left a note for the cleaning crew saying that the bed/mattress was bad. Cleaning crews and room inspectors before us had changed linens and not fixed the obviously broken mattress. That shouldn't be left to the incoming new renters. When I have rented a unit before, we were told that the air conditioning wasn't working, but they worked with us and had it fixed sometime the next day. No problem. I understand that your policy is for renters to check everything in the unit when they arrive and report it for them to fix while you're there. I suggest that you work on this policy fixing OBVIOUS damage before hand. If my daughter hadn't alerted the crew to fix the bed, I wouldn't be writing this review and paying damages.

We stabilized a couple. The blinds could use some repair.Something to consider: safety bars would be very beneficial in the shower. It may prevent some falls.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Wi-Fi router and modem transformer plugs kept falling out of the socket. They were too heavy placed that way. They should have been placed in a power strip on the floor. This caused numerous outages and we had to keep replacing the plugs. A kitchen cabinet door came off its hinge and almost struck one of us in the head. We had to call maintenance. A safety hand bar should be placed in the master shower.Housekeeping should keep up with the mold buildup in the master shower.

Reviewer Comments: The condo is nice but the efficient air conditioner in the condo is horrible, air shuts off if doors aren’t closed all the way, at least that’s what the sign says but it shut off all the time, we double checked doors and they were closed all the way so we would have to open them and literally slam them to restart the air conditioner. Every single time anyone opened anything. We never got the room lower than 77 degrees and this was a good day, otherwise it was in the 80’s. It was miserable. The freezer does not freeze. So if you love the extreme heat, this is the place for you

Reviewer Comments: Excellent unit with only a few quibbles: the electric outlet in the master bath was blocked and unusable, there were no towel hooks or rods in the master bath for bath towels, the thermostat did not allow adjusting the temperature (would have liked it up a few degrees at times).

Very clean, comfortable beds and couch, the master bathroom is awesome too. You can’t beat the panoramic windows and view of the ocean. We enjoy being close to Murrells Inlet too for the dining options. We will definitely stay here again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We decided to try a new condo for our vacation this year, for our next trip to Myrtle Beach we will most likely return to our previous rental. In our opinion entire property overall in poor condition, from the pool you could look up & see several floors with large holes in the balcony ceilings, we arrived just a few days after hurricane Dorian so not sure if that was caused from that or property just in need of desperate repairs. We checked into room & immediately found 4 large water bugs or that's what we thought they were & we continued to see them next 2-3 days in the bathrooms.Leather couches shown in picture were not the same as the ones in unit, chair in living room old & material shredded on top. We like the corner unit but this on had the big air conditioning units right next to it so it was very noisy sitting outside.On a positive note, the weather was beautiful, the view from the unit was great.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this beautiful condo and checked in on Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock. We had a beautiful view and condo, spent Sunday on the beach in absolutely wonderful weather. Went out to dinner and received an email that the governor had a mandatory evaluation the next morning. We definitely didn’t want to leave but was made to leave after only 1 day. I lost all the money, the owners wouldn’t refund anything and only offered us to come back this year. I’m in school, my daughter and son in law live in Ohio, my other daughter has no more vacation this year. So we lost everything. The way the contract read the insurance went with the rental. I am not happy at all. I have been renting here for over 20 years. So make sure you don’t do like I did or you will also be screwed out of your vacation and the money you spent for a week.
