Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: only complaint was exterior entrances to the individual condo's front door and screen porch area. Absolutely filthy. otherwise everything functioned well and was clean inside.

It’s always clean and has a great view of the beach and the backwater! You can see the sun rise and set!!! The pool is also very nice! We highly recommend Compass Rose!!

The bathrooms could not use some updating, particularly commodes. Sliding screen doors did not slide. Mattresses were rediculous.Cable TV was great.

I have stayed here many times and really appreciated the linens and towels that were provided.The unit however needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. A light cleaning was done, but some areas were overlooked. I spent some time cleaning and left the place in better shape than when I got there.

Horrible Infestation!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Space wise this unit was great, however, the unit was infested without roaches. The office liked to call them “palmetto bugs” but a roach is a roach. We were very displeased with the service we got from the office. They acted like no big deal and put everything off on the HOA. We rented through Garden City so if you are going to put your name on something then take some responsibly and make sure what you’re renting is up to par. We’re not talking a couple roaches, we’re talking multiple sightings a day in the unit. They finally sent someone from maintenance out to spray but it didn’t seem to do a thing. The ice maker didn’t work in the unit and maintenance told us the water wasn’t hooked up, I’m sure for a reason. The vacuum in the unit didn’t work but only blew everything around. The dryer vent was venting on to the porch facing the road, but all the lent was coming out there as well leaving the porch covered in lent. There was no dust pan in the unit to sweep since the vacuum didn’t work. All the beds were in rough shape and not very comfortable. It’s sad because we loved the space for our family and the pool and proximity to the ocean was great. We will not be back to Compass Rose and more than likely not using Garden City after how they handled the situation. We were offered to pay the difference to move somewhere else or they would move us across the street to a unit with no pool. Not comparable at all to what we had. I’m sorry but we didn’t pay roach motel rates to stay here.

For the third year in a row, the stair treads are loose going up all four stories, and there is standing water on the steps every time it rains. I'm really surprised the condo owners & condo association have not repaired or replace the treads considering it poses a major safety/liability issue.
