We have just arrived home from the most wonderful holiday! We can only describe the gite as paradise. We were so grateful for the beautiful pool to cool off in. Christine is the perfect host in every way. Such a lovely tranquil place to relax and a beautiful area to explore. We cannot say enough good things about this property. Definitely deserves more than 10/10!

What can we say but, wow! We spent two weeks in this beautiful gite and it’s the best we’ve ever stayed in. Peaceful location just 15 mins to La Rochefoucauld with a huge Leclerc supermarket or Montbron with an Aldi and Intermarche. Plenty of local shops and markets to indulge in too.Bigger towns like Angouleme and Limoges are less than an hour away, so plenty to see and do. But if you just want to relax, the private heated pool (I didn’t measure it but must be 5m x 12m and 1.6 at the deep end with lilos and noodles) and private gardens, complete with sunbeds, are all south-west facing so sun practically all day. The gite itself is wonderful with thick walls that keep it cool. Perfectly clean ample size rooms, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, large and very comfortable bed (with ceiling fan), fitted bathroom, patio furniture, bbq, etc, etc, the list goes on, even multiple hangers in the wardrobe!! We wanted for absolutely nothing and we genuinely felt “at home”. I leave the best to last – our host, Christine. Her excellent English outdid my French, attentive and always on hand when needed but never intrusive. During our stay she spoiled us with cake, tomatoes and herbs from her garden, flowers and what was possibly the best tiramisu we’ve ever had. My wife took advantage of the discount Christine offers to guests on massage and came back totally relaxed. Christine, and Le Gite de Lou, have set a new standard and we will be back.

Gite de Lou looks even better in real life, very nice and well equipped. Very spacious private garden and a lovely spotless pool. Christine was very friendly and welcoming, and spoiled us with lovely tasty tiramisu and other desserts. We would highly recommend the gite which is set in a quiet rural area, and gives a taste of the real France.

2nd stay at Gite de Lou

A 2nd holiday with Christine and David at the beautiful le gite de lou. This for us is the perfect home from home with every convenience catered for. The swimming pool is always clean and well presented as are the gite and gardens. The hosts Christine & David are approachable and attentive without being intrusive. You really couldn't find a better place to stay.

Lovely place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at the property which was very clean, warm, comfortable and has a lovely, private swimming pool. It is a great place to explore the nearby towns such as Cognac, Limoges, Angouleme and many interesting small villages. Christine was extremely kind and helpful and we have no hesitation in recommending it if you are considering a holiday in this area.

This is a lovely gite, perfect for a relaxing holiday and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Christine is an excellent host- and a master of the perfect tiramisu!! Wish we could have stayed longer than a week.

Lovely gite

The gite was immaculate and very clean. Everything you could need was there but Christine said that anything we needed to just say and she would try to get it (never needed to ask for anything). Christine is a fabulous host even going as far as leaving us baked goods and fresh tomatoes and herbs from her garden. Thank you Christine for a fantastic stay at your gite.

Relaxing holiday

A wonderful relaxing 2 weeks in beautiful surroundings. The gite was very clean, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Christine the host was very friendly and on hand if required even made us home baked treats. It is worth booking one of the therapy massages, one of the best I've ever had. We will definitely be staying again.

Sejour parfait

Une semaine de détente et de repos dans un gite ravissant et calme. La campagne charentaise mérite son surnom de toscane française. Piscine extra. Des hôtes absolument charmants, plein d attentions quotidiennes. On n a qu une hate c est de pouvoir y retourner. Merci encore Christine et David.

Gite du Lou exceeded our expectations in every way and more than lived up to the photos and description of the property. Christine and David were the perfect hosts. Holiday at Le Gite de Lou

We spent an enjoyable week at this lovely gite which is an ideal place if you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil holiday. Christine was the perfect host and made sure we were made welcome in this beautifully presented gite. The pool was cleaned every day and we really appreciated swimming as we had very hot weather for most of our stay. We spent many an evening outside on the patio enjoying watching the sun go down. We would highly recommend this lovely gite for a quiet relaxing holiday and hope to return in the future.

Summer holiday

We were looking for somewhere to relax after a stressful year this ticked the box and we could not of picked a better place to stay. Christine the host was amazing and so helpful the gite had everything we needed the was lavender all around it which helped us to relax. The swimming pool was lovely to cool off in after a day of sightseeing. We will definitely be looking to come back and stay again.

Relax, relax, relax

This property is the ideal destination for a couple looking to do nothing except relax, enjoy the beautiful countryside, discover the marvellous restaurants in the surrounding area and return home totally satisfied with the break. The hosts, Christine and David, were absolutely delightful - attentive and hospitable but never intrusive. The gite is well equipped and has benefited from extensive refurbishment. The garden is just beautiful and we looked longingly at the well maintained swimming pool but alas the weather did not quite play ball on this occasion. All in all highly recommended and we hope to return.

Super séjour en Charente

Le gîte de Lou est superbe avec une décoration soignée et tout le matériel nécessaire pour cuisiner et profiter de l’extérieur. Il s’agit d’un espace distinct du bâtiment principal disposant également d’un coin jardin où des transats peuvent être mis. Nous y avons passé un moment de détente très agréable. Christine fait également des massages bien être qui sont délassants et agréables - à essayer absolument! On en ressort détendus 😎
