Hocking

It wasn't the greatest cabin, but I thought that it was worth the price. It's super close to the state forrest.

Incredibly Underwhelmed

Was the cabin livable? Yes. Was it enjoyable? No. Every single thing in the cabin needs updated, dusted, and mopped, because I am positive none of that has happened in years. Horrible sleeping arrangements with lackluster or creepy decor, holes in doors and beaten walls/trim, and incredibly slippery stairs to the cabin made it overall pretty depressing. My friend who stayed with us even slipped on the unsealed wood stairs that are covered in slippery algae-like film and bruised her arm pretty bad. The only positive was the hot tub and location were nice enough. I learned my lesson, pay a bit more and stay somewhere that at least compares to an average motel. It is not worth the money.

Was a nice little cabin for the small price paid! There is a neighboring cabin down the hill a little bit but it was over all secluded & quiet! Comments prior talk about a junk yard near, yes there was at the front of the property but still was a ways from the road the cabins sit on. Would definitely stay again! Only little issue we had were squirrels or raccoons in the roof or the vents, sounded like they had somebody’s hiking boots on. Lol

Great Place

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was very clean and had all we needed. Only thing was the propane was completely empty so we had to go get a new tank in order to grill. We did not get the code for the door to get in but the host was very responsive when I messaged him about it!! Highly recommend.

Anniversary getaway

Overall great experience. Would definitely reccommend. Hot tub was hot and clean. Very quiet and peaceful. Internet worked great and all the tv options were really. A plesent suprise. The animal living in the ceiling that enjoyed playing tag at night was a little hard to sleep through. Lots of cookware present, nice selection of pots and pans, a couple baking sheets. Only real complaint (besides the ceiling roommate) would be it needed swept before we came, several dog hair balls in open spots and old mud clumps across the floor. Just could see it needed swept as soon as you walked in. But easy fix for us.

Great Cabin, Scary Neighbors

Don't take any pics of the junk yard down the road. They get really ticked off. Also they fired off a few shots at 1 am in the morning. Don't know what they were shooting at. But heard the shots loud and clear. The cabin and area is beautiful. Had a really nice stay, but the neighbors down the road, scary.

Conveniently located, cabin in the woods

After reading some reviews, I was afraid I made a mistake booking this property, but I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Keep in mind, this is a cabin... it is not the Taj Mahal. It is unfortunate that the owner of the property at the entrance to the road has a working junk yard, but once you pass it, you won't see it from the cabin. Overall, we had a pleasant stay here.

Be Prepared

The location was not bad. It was halfway between Logan and Hocking Hills State Park. The first impression turning off the main road was a little worrisome. The immediate property was more of a junk yard than a living place. Getting to the cabin was easy and yes, you need a 4x4 to get up the driveway to the location. If it is rains be prepared for a lot of mud. If you are looking for a place to just crash out, this is it. There is a TV but bring DVD's as there is no satellite or cable. My wife and I had to watch programs on our iPad. This cabin was rough by the looks and the lighting needs improvement. We did not use the hot tub, the fire-pit or deck as the weather was snowy and cold during our stay.

Cold and dirty

It was about 20 degrees outside when we arrived. The heat in the cabin was off. We arrived around 3pm and the cabin wouldn't get up to 60 degrees until about 9pm. Also, it seemed like the cabin hadn't been cleaned in months. Kitchen table had a very thick layer of dirt and dust on it. We would not go back.

Falls Visit

The condition of the cabin was not up to par with the description. It was ok, but far short of the rental price that was asked. Also to get to the property we drove past houses that had piles of junk sitting on the property. The neighborhood looked like a junkyard.

Needs updating and bedroom unusable

Our family paid alot for 2 nights during fall break. When walking in we noticed musty smell throughout the home. The downstairs bedroom had damp carpet and was so strong with mildew that we couldn’t sleep in it due to allergies. Overall cleanliness was poor. Table was still sticky, dirt on floors and cobwebs throughout the house. The bathroom terribly needed updating. Shower walls were coming off and floor seems to have issues with support. Hot tub was not usable either due to the chemicals being so strong that it burned our eyes and lungs. Kids were very disappointed about this too. Since we arrived late and it was dark, path up to the home is very unsafe with no lighting. Overall, this is the most dissatisfied I’ve been with a cabin in hocking hills as this was our third trip. Hoping this review can help others to NOT rent this one until it can be updated properly and for safety reasons.

Fun family getaway

We had plenty of room for 6 adults and a 1 year old. The big table was great to play games and all have meals together. We ran out of toilet paper and trash bag, tries to call management a few times and never got an answer. The cabin could definitely use some updating and the downstairs bedroom smelled like dog pee. Other than that we had a great time.

Perfect for what it is!

The house was as listed. It is on the rustic side, however, the addition of WiFi was nice so we could listen to music. The kitchen had everything really you would need. I brought a good amount of stuff. Coffee pot does not automatically shut off FYI. Bring games, fire pit chairs, pillows. Hot tub was nice. It was safe and clean, if there were some small upgrades this place could be really fabulous. I wouldn’t have paid anymore than we did for what the cabin was but it had everything we needed.

Spacious!

Tons of space for a large group. We loved the long table where everyone could enjoy a meal together. Adequate seating. We took folding chairs to sit around the fire which was all that was missing. The benches are neat, but if youre planning to sit around the fire for a few hours, a chair will def be more comfy. Water stinks, but its a well, so expect that - bring your own for cooking/drinking. The hot tub was very relaxing, we loved the balcony and even with a picnic table on it, theres still so much space! The loft is really neat. AC window units kept up and downstairs the perfect temp. Upstairs bed was very comfy. Downstairs bedroom was the only downer - theres a strong odor of someones pet and it made using that room a little less desirable (but we still did). Other than that, it was a great get away!
