At arrival, I waited at an empty counter for 15 minutes. After calling out for assistance, the attendant peeked her head out of from around the office wall and seemed inconvenienced to check me in. The room was clean and well organized. The fridge worked very well in keeping our water and soda cold. However, that’s the extent of positives we experienced during our stay. We were given only 1 night of towels for 1 person despite having 2 people for 2 nights. We had to rely on pool towels to supplement our stay into night 2. The breakfast was gross. Cold food, biscuit rocks with flour water. Boiled eggs were borderline slimy from the fridge. The orange juice from the machine dispenser was warm. I couldn’t finish it from fear of food borne illness. Thankfully, there was a Dennys next door. The pool was cold with inflatables left by other guests. But the hot tub was colder and didn’t work. All the smoking guests stayed around the main door entrance and we had to walk through clouds of smoke when we entered/left the hotel. If you’re looking for a bed and pillow for a night in the middle of a trip, this place will do. Just eat somewhere else. If you’re looking to stay longer than a night, you’re better off finding a better hotel.

First the positives: beds were comfy & room was clean. Parking plentiful. Now the bad; Pool is SO BAD. Hot tub felt like a polar plunge, literally colder than the pool. I am not exaggerating, it was freezing. Pool area is so dated and faded, paint chipping, and not at all as photographed. Could not see the bottom of the pool & could not smell any chlorine at all. Ended up making my kids get out after 10 min and go shower as the concern for bacteria was so high considering it was obviously not a well-treated pool. My son is in cancer treatment and one of the things he is able to do for fun is swim in a properly chlorinated pool, unfortunately the pool was disappointing and didn’t feel safe for him. Such a waste of a trip. Moving on, you have to get your pool towels from the front desk and they gave me such attitude when i asked for one for each family member. Acted like we were supposed to all share one? Breakfast was meh, the first two times we tried to eat there was barely any food. Waited for them to restock and it tasted like the biscuits were microwaved. You know when you microwave something too long and outsides are tough and hard? Yeah. Gross. When we arrived the front desk clerk seemed annoyed with my questions and then we found our door standing wide open to our room. Overall: we stayed to get some pool time (did not), have a decent breakfast (did not) and get a good nights sleep (at least there was that.) But we will never be back or recommend it to anyone

After checking in, I went to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Was alerted to the boil order going on in the city, and looked it up later on the city's FB page. I screenshot the info, and showed it to the woman at the front desk. I asked her if she wanted to take a picture of this to alert the owners, and she asked if I would email it to the owners, which I did. The hotel DID NOT notify guests until Saturday morning (my notification to them was on Thursday night) and guests would need to read a lengthy article about the boil order, while the drinking fountains, etc, were not taped off. No bottled water was offered to us. The outside doors did not lock automatically when we went through them, or did the room doors. Each needed to be firmly shut. The door to the pool area did not lock. The jacuzzi water was cold, which I think is an ongoing problem. Due to making reservations with different places, I had to go to the front desk and "check out", and get a new room key after each of three nights. On the 2nd morning, I was called and they demanded that I check out as they were booked. When I said that I had booked the room with Expedia months earlier, and would be happy to show them the email, they said that someone had just cancelled a reservation and I could stay there. When I went to the desk, there were no apologies. The room was clean, but the dark shades to close at night were worn, and the lights from the parking lot shown through. Will never stay at a Windham again

There was no one at front desk. A lady was sitting outside and saw us walk in. About 15 minutes later that lady came in and asked us what we needed. We told her we needed to check in. She gave us a key, never said hi or when breakfast was. Terrible service

Bedding was nice but bathroom pretty gross. We didn't use it, but my wife noticed hair and what appeared to be broken glass in the shower. There was something on the top of the toilet bowl that appeared to be dried blood. Room smelled of cigarettes, despite the fact that there were signs everything stating this was a non-smoking hotel and that anyone caught smoking would be fined $250 and evicted.

We were NOT informed about the boil water order. If friends staying at other hotels in Litchfield had not mentioned it, we would never have known. When we asked the person at the desk, his attitude was less than helpful. He offered to give us a CUP of water that had been boiled, but NO bottled water was offered. He seemed rather reluctant to give us any but did give us each a bottle.

Overall I am happy with our stay. Most of the staff was great I did feel like some were distracted and could have been more accommodating. Hopefully it was just an off week. My only real disappointment about the facility was the hot tub being cold but I understand sometimes things break and you’ve got to wait for parts to arrive so I don’t fault them for that and hope they get it up and running soon.
