Pleasant stay

Hotel stay was comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was subpar. There was no coffee left in the container, and no one was available to refill it. There was no fruit left, and no protein.

It's old, which we expected. However, the condition is not a boutique hotel condition. Rather, it's like a motel in a historic building and the breakfast included is worse than what a two and half star hotel can offer. One elevator doesn't work. If your room is close to where the bar/restaurant is, good luck. For the price they charge, it's not worth it.

Comfy bed and very clean!

Beautiful town, comfortable bed (pillows suck) and the room is very clean. Awesome rain head shower with lots of hot water. Staff was super nice and check in went smoothly. Breakfast is the usual but they had fresh yogurt and fruit which was nice. It’s a little worn looking in spots and the walls are pretty thin but overall will stay again when traveling through.

TV kept getting darker and harder to watch during athletic events. No one to change out a newer TV. Offered a different room but we were staying for several days and didn't want to have to move all of our stuff. My wife wished there would be a bath, shower was fine but she likes baths.

Lovely place, but one big issue

I would have rated it a 5 except that you had no control of the temperature in the room. We had to call the front desk to get temperature adjustments and that’s just ridiculous in my opinion.

The Gin Hotel is a must stay again for me. The Gin is a unique hotel in a 100yr old building right in downtown Lexington. It was quiet, clean, safe and all of the staff were awesome. I grew up in the area but haven't returned in a couple of decades. Downtown Lexington has transformed into a great place to walk around, shop, eat and have a few drinks. The only negatives I would give is parking is tight for modern vehicles and the mattress was firmer than my taste... but that's personal preference.

My husband and I stopped here overnight on our way south and were pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel is. The restaurant was delicious and priced very reasonably. Nice sojourn.

Might of been better if the room was not across from the kitchen and hearing the door slam all night and early morning. The room was a handicap room (didn’t know when booking) the shower head was waist high. Was not able to adjust the room temp. The hallway lights just poured through the room door.
