The Hotel had great views on Travelocity. On google maps not so good. Here’s whatever experienced on our stay. Location is great. Lots of places to eat in the area. Very clean and safe at night in the New Mactan area. Outside the area in the day it was fine at night I wouldn’t let my girlfriend walk alone. The hotel was great. Any bad experiences that were written prior have been remedied since it became a Mercure hotel. The staff were amazing. Front desk had at least 6 people there to check in and out. Jay-R was the doorman he was awesome always got us a cab or a Grab. Super helpful and a good guy for sure. The hotel room was spacious, pretty basic but a nice big bed, the ac was very cold. The water temp could have been hotter but it was warm enough to fog the mirror in the bathroom. The buffet had a good selection of local and continental dishes. Fresh and well stocked. The gym had a lot of equipment and the pool was not too big but it was enough. There was also a steam bath and a sauna the guests could use for free. We didn’t go to the beach or use the spa we went outside the area for that. Overall it was a great experience no complaints and if we visit Cebu again we would definitely stay at the Mercure Hotel again.

This is NOT beachfront and not on the beach. Property claims to be "on the beach" and "beachfront." That is not true. It's a 10 minute walk, off the priority, to an overcrowded beach open to the general public.

Spacious family rooms (two interconnecting rooms with 2 bathrooms). We had a good view of the ocean which was lovely to wake up to. Excellent, comfortable bedding and fairly convenient location to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was also good. We did try to dine at the restaurant one night but it didn’t really have any vegetarian options which was disappointing and when asked, they couldn’t really accommodate us.

The room was clean but a bit dusty. The airconditioner is noisy. I tried booking for a shuttle pick up from the airport a week before my arrival but there was an inconsistency in their response. I completed the inormation they asked for but did not confirm receipt. In the end, my family was not picked up from the airport. My issue is - the hotel could just have advised us that they could not provide the service. We would understand and find other options. I think the hotel need to improve on their communication. Also, the lobby is small and gets too crowded. It detracts from a good impression.
