Idéal Dordogne holiday setting
We stayed the Alienor gite, just outside the lovely village of Lanquais near the Dordogne river. Our host Ann is really excellent host. The house is excellent - all the comforts of home, plenty of space, great welcome supplies, spotlessly cleane, nice and cool in the really hot recent weather and excellent value for money. The site up on the side of a wooded hill was really quiet and relaxing, had great views and lovely countryside or riverside walks. The large private garden and facilities solely for our use was brilliant. Ann is always available for very helpful info, tips and suggestions without in any way being intrusive. Indeed, they really added a lot to our holiday experience and enjoyment. We and our dog for lovely walks in the countryside and was a real joy. Many thanks to all three of you. The village of Lanquais within easy driving distance (3.5 km )of the house, had all the facilities you could want - realy nice restaurants, supermarket, fuel station, pharmacy, range of local shops, canoe hire centre, etc.
We really enjoyed the spectacular locsl scenary on our 8 mile gentle canoe trip down the Dordogne. Truely a great vacation.
