"we had a really lovely time on Madeline Island. The house was just what we needed - modest, but with all the necessary amenities to cook a meal, relax and enjoy the water. The access across the road was easy and convenient. The kayaks were awesome! We had an early snag where the property had not been fully cleaned from the previous guests but Alan was on it immediately and offered compensation for the hassle which was much appreciated! Highly recommend!"

"We have a long history of spending Labor Day weekend on the Island and have stayed at many of the notable VRBO’s here . This is an outstanding property and my personal favorite . My husband and I spent a total of 8 wonderful nights here with our 3 adult children , their spouses , and 4 of my 5 grandchildren ages 2-9 .We utilized all of the sleeping spaces with the exception of the reading nook. The weather was perfect !As a lover of fine architecture (and also of fine cooking ),I commend Dale Mulfinger and the Brunker family for creating this masterpiece !The cabin is superbly and brilliantly designed and perfectly furnished.It was like it was penned from the beginning of the design in its formulative stage to feel like an historic and treasured family cabin “born “before it was even built with a patina of “warmth”,“love “,and “home “. We enjoyed beach time and picnics on 3 other islands in our boat , games , reading and puzzle time in the wonderful “Away Room”,great meals in the lovely kitchen , and dance parties with the grand kids on the covered porch ,fires in the beautiful and superbly engineered Rumsford fireplace.Sadly prior to coming here , at 73years young,I had had an accident which resulted in a broken foot so I never made it down the path to the dock .But everyone else did and enjoyed swimming and dock time there!
