The pics and description of the condo on VRBO looked amazing. We already knew the location could not be beat becasue we stayed in the ujit right next door 4 years ago (different owner/management). Unfortunately, after our first "homemade" meal on our first day (my wife's birthday) I realized the last time the dishwasher had been used, the cycle was cut very short as evidenced by the absolutely disgusting water and food debris still sitting in the basin of the dishwasher tub. That can only mean the dishes that were once in the dishwasher just long enough for an initial rinse cycle were removed "still dirty" and placed back in the cupboards and drawers; can't imagine where else they could have ended up. Disgusting, right? I immediately manually cleaned out the tub by hand thinking it was broken; nope. I then ran a drain cycle and another clean cycle with soap and no dishes; machine seemed to work perfectly fine. Thereafter, I washed every dish, cup, and utensil prior to use and of course, after use. That's kind of a lot of work I didn't appreciate doing on my Hawaiian vacation. Of course, it didn't take long (next afternoon) for the on-site manager to appear in our condo with a maintenance person to tell us not to use the dishwasher anymore as it was leaking through the ceiling in the unit downstairs. From that point through the rest of our stay aka: Hawaiian vacation, we washed all of our dishes by hand, only made worse when maintenance removed the unit and left it in the unit
