Room check in is 2pm. We arrived 1.40pm but had to sit and wait 20 minutes for the room, as did everyone else who arrived before 2pm. No way housekeeping got 6-8 rooms ready in that 20 minutes! Just silly and annoying.
Pictures on Hotels.com are probably of when the rooms were either brand new (20 years ago?) or one that has been refurbished. Our Grand room was old and not on the front row as promised. Very 1980s inside, worn/tired but reasonably clean. Minimal facilities. One towel each. No hairdryer.
Only reason for staying here is the view, which is great. However, most rooms either requires a steep uphill walk or a 8-10 minute undulating walk to the end of the resort, as ours did. Not suitable for anyone with any walking or health issues as there is no transport at the hotel.
The night before leaving we confirmed the 8am boat back to the Pier. Only to be told the next morning that the boat could not operate due to low tide. If only tide times could be predicted or were available in a book or online!
So we had to walk 15 minutes, with all luggage back to the Pier. No transportation was provided/available.
So essentially getting to and from the hotel is not easy. Getting around the hotel is not easy. Rooms are tired and not as shown in the pictures.
However, view from the room is good, even though we were not on the front row as promised!
