Check in was easy. Only problem was the toilet was acting up off and on. Morning we left the toilet would not flush at all. We also did not have the room serviced (cleaned and restocked) so we were out of coffee. We did get some in the breakfast area. It was probably our fault as we put the do not disturb sign on the door when we took a nap but removed it later. Also the phone in our room was not working otherwise I would have called the front desk. Not a big problem as we all use our cell phones anyway!

The walkway to the ocean was so convenient and accessible. The beds were comfortable and clean. There was a water leak from the AC that pooled onto the balcony but not bad. They had a clear sign to be careful on the door. It didn’t hinder the beautiful view!

Paper thin walls, you can hear every conversation from the neighbors. The water pressure on the outdoor showers near the beach is so bad it’s impossible to actually get the sand off of you. The rooms are dark and dingy. The location is great, and the pools were nice. Overall though we won’t be returning.

Everything was excellent except maybe the pool could be cleaned better. There was white foaming stuff floating on top of the water in the outdoor pool. Inside pool was fine.

I mistakenly booked the wrong date. Paid $300+ for 1 night. Realized my mistake after 28 hours. I called Expedia and the hotel to ask them to move my reservation to the following weekend.. the hotel in Expedia denied my request. The reservation was nonrefundable. I just expected Expedia and or the hotel to do the right thing and move my reservation or refund the money or at least some of the money.. Needless to say we did not stay at the hotel as it was the wrong date and we forfeited over $300. I am not happy!

We stayed in an ocean view room, which was beautiful. The room was nice and the hotel was right on the beach. Breakfast was a quick continental breakfast, but still had bacon/sausage and eggs each morning. We used both the indoor and outdoor pool, which were small, but we enjoyed them. We enjoyed our stay here.

I liked the stay overall, but the room we were in was dated and needs to be remodeled. The bathroom was so small you could barely shut the door and you couldn’t move in it. The room was clean but not as nice as I was expecting. Overall, a slightly disappointing stay. On a high note…. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Amazing stay! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub were cleaned everyday. Laundry facilities were clean, Breakfast was great every morning! Right on the beach, so 30 steps and you were at the ocean!!

Love that there is beach access. Glad we brought chairs an umbrella and beach towels. Beach was always pretty empty which was nice. Close to a bunch of restaurants as well.

Great aside from dirty tub!

We’ve been staying at Shutters for several years with no issue. But this trip was not as great. As always, our beds were super comfortable, pools, hot tub & easy access to the beach were excellent as well. But our bathroom tub was disgusting & the shower curtain was covered in mold at the bottom. The front desk ladies did try to assist but housekeeping was gone for the day. We asked for cleaning spray but none ever arrived at our room. My wife cleaned the tub/shower with hot soapy water & we wore flip flops when we showered. Aside from that, it was a comfortable stay. We will be back as I am hoping this was a one off bad experience with an otherwise great hotel.

DIRTY SMELLY DO NOT STAY HERE!

We booked one night after seeing the reviews and upon check in, we went to the room finding it nothing like the pictures. The room was smelly like mold and dirty! We were offered a second room which we found in the same condition! We went to the front desk and told them we would not accept either room and were told we would recieve a refund the next day! Lies. We were charged and were told they have a no refund policy even when we did not even stay there!!!! We also called Hotels.com and explained the above and they would not issue a refund!

Shutters had everything we would want at a reasonable price. Great access to the beach, nice space in the room, the AC worked well, the bed was comfortable, plenty of parking. Things we would have liked in a room, but it fell short on - The bathroom sink area was very small, and right at the entrance of the room, The plantation shutters looked nice but the room was filled with light as soon as the sun came up.
