Jag hade höga förvĂ€ntningar inför min vistelse pĂ„ detta hotell i Uganda, men tyvĂ€rr blev upplevelsen inte alls vad jag hade hoppats pĂ„. Det som verkligen drog ner hela upplevelsen var stĂ€dningen – eller snarare avsaknaden av den. Rummet kĂ€ndes inte frĂ€scht vid ankomst, och under hela vistelsen fick jag inte uppleva nĂ„gon egentlig förbĂ€ttring. Det var smutsigt, dammigt och trĂ„ngt pĂ„ ett sĂ€tt som gjorde att man nĂ€stan fick klaustrofobi. Att leva i en sĂ„dan miljö under flera dagar pĂ„verkar bĂ„de humör och vĂ€lmĂ„ende negativt. Det var inte bara stĂ€dningen som brast – till och med grundlĂ€ggande saker som toalettpapper saknades. Jag var tvungen att sjĂ€lv söka upp personalen och be om det, vilket inte ska behövas pĂ„ ett hotell. Dessa smĂ„ detaljer skvallrar om att det saknas ett grundlĂ€ggande system för service och underhĂ„ll. Ett tydligt förbĂ€ttringsarbete krĂ€vs, bĂ„de nĂ€r det gĂ€ller hygien och organisation. Det som dock rĂ€ddade vistelsen frĂ„n att bli helt katastrofal var personalen. De var otroligt vĂ€nliga, hjĂ€lpsamma och gjorde sitt bĂ€sta för att lösa de problem som dök upp. Oavsett vad man bad om möttes man med ett leende och en vilja att hjĂ€lpa till, vilket jag verkligen uppskattar. Deras bemötande var verkligen guld vĂ€rt och nĂ„got hotellet bör vara stolta över.
