Perfect Property in beautiful location

We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed the resort pools, restaurant and beach. Snorkling was great right from our beach, beach chairs were nice and even a couple of trees for shade. Less than a 2 mile walk to Whaler's Village with more restaurants and shopping. Bathrooms were all nice size, dining and living room had great seating. Lanai was wonderful for viewing whales and enjoying morning coffee. We would stay here again!

Beyond our Expectations

Amazing space! Comfortable and clean. Close to everything we needed. Attentive staff. Great food at Duke's. Our family of 6 had all the space we needed and never felt crowded. Would 100% stay here again.

Wonderful location for a Maui vacation!

We spent 10 days at Honua Kai in this beautiful condo on Kaanapali beach and everything was perfect… the accommodations, the view, the resort amenities, the beach, the location, Duke’s, the snorkeling, the whales, the weather, and the island itself. We would love to visit again!

Week long Stay

Overall stay was fantastic. Property was great for the kids Ranging 5-9 and service was great. Communication with property manager was great. Everything was clean. we had issues with getting the pass code at check in, property manager was easy to get ahold of at midnight and provided correct info. Opportunities: With onsite grills and two ovens, there were no sheet pans to transfer food to/from the grilling area OR to use within the ovens themselves. recommend providing sheet pans for future guests. highly recommend.

Best Christmas!!

Our family trip to Maui and this condo was fabulous! The condo is beautiful and nicely appointed. The view spectacular. We saw a rainbow daily along with whales outside our balcony. Staff here has been very kind and responsive. I had a couple questions during our stay and every time I called I was pleasantly greeted and my questions were answered. This place has been magical and exactly what I wanted when I booked our reservation a year ago. We had plenty of room for the 6 of us and our trip was relaxing and so enjoyable. I highly recommend not only our particular condo but the entire resort. Do not think twice about booking! We were a bit concerned about maintaining our reservation after the fire but have been warmly welcomed by all residents and have been thanked for visiting the island many times. Thank you for a wonderful trip. We will be back!

The resort is beautiful! The condo is fabulous. Very clean and beautifully decorated. The views off of the balcony are amazing. I highly recommend the resort and this unit! We will definitely want to return.

Amazing Stay!

We had an amazing experience in Maui and with the rental company. They were very helpful and responsive during our stay. The rental had everything we needed for cooking at home! The space was amazing, views were breathtaking and very clean. We had a great time and fell in love with Maui for sure!

Excellent property, views, and location

Our family had a wonderful time. The property was perfect for our larger group. We could see whales and sunsets from the lanai. We were a short walk to the pools and a short drive to other Maui destinations.

Fantastic vacation

The condo was better than advertised. Very clean with excellent amenities. Whenever we needed supplies or a little help with the condo, the maintenance team promptly responded. Would stay here again the next time we are in Maui.

Family Holiday

This was our second time staying at the Honua Kai, but in a different unit. This unit was clean, very spacious and located close to the pool. The view at night is very nice. Overall a nice unit that is well located.

Exceeded expectations

No surprises, the pictures and descriptions are dead accurate: The condo has all the required amenities (and many extras), is beautifully appointed, immaculately clean, and well cared-for. We particularly appreciated the close distance to the elevator that goes straight down to the underground parking lot. This made a world of difference to family members with reduced mobility. This is definitely our first choice for a repeat trip.

Greeat Condo

Other than not being able to use the balcony because of a scheduled painting we had a very good time. Beautiful location. The condo was beautiful, very clean as shown in the pictures and appears to have been recently remodeled. Check in was very easy at the bell captain desk. Enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Awesome Experience

We loved this unit! So spacious, great comfortable living room furniture, awesome view. Could use some plastic cups and plates, a couple cooking sheets of some sort. Could also use a vacuum cleaner. We were there 11 nights and could’ve used a Shark to quickly clean the floors and rugs. Overall, amazing! We plan on getting this unit again!

Great Family Vacation

Second time at this property, first time with my adult children and grand-baby. We had an awesome time, and no one wanted to leave. The condo was clean and just what was expected. The appliances were all very nice, the only issue we had was with the freezer. You do have to make sure the drawer is shut, just hard for the icemaker to keep up with us - and the free ice just kept melting together. But that is the only issue we ever had. My SIL accidentally cracked the coffee pot - and the customer service people were so nice to bring a completely new one to us! Also, as we needed more paper towels, they were happy to drop those to us too. Of course we will be back - we love it here, and again the stay was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend this condo, it was perfect!

Love to rent it again.

The condo was excellent: this unit was the second one from the end unit facing ocean so had great ocean view plus resort view, interior was beautiful and clean as shown in pictures, and conveniently located between south Kaanapali and beautiful beaches at north Maui. Not as crowded as south Kaanapali, beach wasn’t as nice as south but easily walk to south side to eat, shop or snorkel around Black Rock. I would definitively love to go back!

Unbeatable

We had a wonderful time in Hokulani 403 on a week-long visit to Maui in the winter of 2022. Our group consisted of 5 adults, so no one needed to sleep in the living room. Beds were comfortable; bathrooms were well-appointed. The kitchen featured a set of dinnerware, flatware, basic cooking utensils, a traditional coffee maker, a Vitamix, pots, pans, and bowls. We didn’t find any baking pans or cookie sheets. There are ice cube trays in the freezer. Appliances are all high-end. There were TVs in every BR and the LR. All worked perfectly, as did WiFi. The lanai was spacious with comfortable seating for 5 at the table, and the view of the ocean was excellent. We saw whales every day! There were 6 Tommy Bahama beach chairs (the kind with backpack straps and big pockets), 2 medium coolers, and 2 beach umbrellas. We could have used more trash bags. The Honua Kai resort itself is very nice. Pool crowding was never a problem, nor was noise. Everything got pretty quiet after sundown, and the whole place shut down by 9 PM. There was no party vibe whatsoever, which was great in our opinion. Even the inside of the unit was quiet—we almost never heard noise from an adjacent condo. Our group had 2 cars, and we just parked both in the lot outside without any problems. The beach is good for sunbathing, but there are quite a few rocks close to shore, so swimming is tough. Boogie boarding is not recommended. There are better spots on Maui to snorkel, but we did see at least one turtle close to shore most days. A grocery store, a coffee shop, a food truck plaza, and a few restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Overall, we thought this represented an unbeatable rental for the price. If it’s in your budget, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a unit in Honua Kai with a better view that isn’t on an end cap. We would not hesitate to stay in H403 again. In fact, I’m already looking at dates for 2023! Mahalo!

Great condo - and loved the gas range!

After we had to cancel a trip staying in one of the few direct ocean facing condos (planned for whale watching), we booked this condo for our rescheduled June trip. Apartment was very clean, great view of the pools and the long line at Dukes. Very windy while we were there so didn't have a lot of chance to sit out on the lanai and enjoy the scenery! We had almost everything we needed, and one thing we didn't expect. We were told there were only pack n plays available for little kids, so we booked our own. When we arrived there were two cribs in the condo - one provided by Maui Resort Rentals which we were very grateful for, and used. And the one we booked privately. Nobody came to pick it up as we decided not to use it! Not a big deal but could have saved us a bit of money had we known! Condo has enough kitchen items for the adults but lacked non breakable plates and cups for poolside and for the kids, and no items available to pack or little lunches and picnics. A rice cooker would also be a welcome addition. Check in was weird, although instructions tell you to check in with bell captain, it was hard to determine if the little kiosk was actually the bell captain. A sign would be nice because your brain doesn't always work well after a long flight with two little ones! And getting bags to rooms takes a long time. Very comfortable beds and enough room for our family of 3 adults and two children. Make sure to learn how to operate the nana doors though - took us a while to figure it out and then it got too windy to open them! Beach is ok but water is not suitable for kids. As other reviewers at Honua Kai have stated, walk down a little ways to the beach outside the other hotels. A little wider beach but not a lot of difference in the ocean. I suggest going to baby beach in Lahaina (but not on a weekend), or Napili and Kapalua Bays which are an easy 10 minute drive away. Pools are great albeit a little chilly but you soon get accustomed to the water and there's plenty of hot tubs to warm up. Kids loved the slide. Things were just beginning to open up whilst we were there but there were still not enough chairs around the pools and cabanas and cassabellas book up weeks in advance. You'll be fine taking your own beach chair (if your condo has any) or just a towel thrown on any of the grassy areas. Other than the lack of kid items in the condo, we had a very enjoyable stay (oh and should you need it, internet is super-fast!).
