Perfect accommodation for 6 adults and 4 little ones

This home was just right for three couples and four kids aged 7-2. Lots of opportunities for the cousins to enjoy one another and the parents and grandparents to relax.

Unfortunately, our stay at Grandma’s House in Juneau was far from what we expected, and there were enough issues that I would not recommend this property. The property itself also had several concerns. We were told by the locals the house is in a serious flood zone and floods yearly due to glacier-related flooding including the time we booked it in July/Aug so that was a constant worry. The house is also located on a busy street, and traffic noise was significant. There were visible maintenance concerns, including a section of soffit that appeared to be falling down in the back yard. The master bathroom ceiling is slanted so you can NOT take a shower, only a bath. When getting out of the tub, I kept hitting my head on the low slanted ceiling. The back yard has no furniture to sit on.Basic amenities were lacking. We had to buy hand soap, which is a fairly unreasonable inconvenience for a vacation rental. Our guests accidentally left several personal belongings behind in different rooms, including jewelry, and a jacket. None of these items were returned! There were tacky handwritten notes taped everywhere which felt like we were in a college dorm being kept in line rather than a vacation rental. We booked an early check-in at 2:00 p.m but the housekeeper wearing wedge heels refused us entry saying she was “nowhere near” being finished. We came back at 5:00 p.m.—and she was still cleaning. We had to move in while she was still working in the house!

Class Reunion in JUNEau

Had a class reunion with friends from across the country for 1 week. Appreciate the large space, including 5 bedrooms to accommodate our party. Found there to be a lot of issues with the home however; broken toilet, kitchen chair, door handles, etc. Also did not have adequate amount of dishware for our large party to enjoy dinners together without staggering. This was communicated to owner who quickly dropped off appropriate amount of dishware/silverware, etc, we appreciated her promptness to improve the situation. Overall, it was a good spot to stay at for a large group.
