Hidden gem on Jekyll for families with pets

This fantastic property was perfect for our family vacation! It was clean, modern, and beautifully decorated. The three bedrooms and two sitting areas allowed us to spread out, and the six seater table was great for dinner! They even had a water and food bowl for our doggo! The back patio has beautiful lighting, and the yard is fenced. Loved the location (two blocks from the beach). Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful stay!

Anchors Away was the perfect location for our ten day stay. The duplex was recently updated, very clean, and cozy. We were close to the bike trail and Beach Village. The neighborhood was excellent for walking our dogs, plus they enjoyed the fenced-in yard. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. We are already making plans to return next year. Highly recommended!

Older Home Nice Updates

You can tell the home was built in the 70s but they really did a very nice job updating the homes, especially the bathrooms and brand new kitchen. Some walls had some scuffs and things, and we photographed them upon arrival. Host was excellent and very responsive. One suggestion please provide more toilet paper.

Excellent!

My friends and I stayed her, along with my golden retriever, and were so impressed with the amenities and location. The cottage is decorated impressively and it looks to be recently renovated. There was an expresso machine in addition to a Keurig, which we used often. Two bicycles were provided for our use at no extra charge, as well as beach chairs and beach towels. The walk to the beach was about 5 minutes and we walked to watch the sunrise each morning. The neighborhood has a population of "beach deer" as we called them and we enjoyed seeing them on our walks. I highly recommend adventuring to the abandoned amphitheater. We saw Roseate Spoonbills, Great Cranes, and Tri-Colored Herons at the lake near the amphitheater. I highly recommend this property. We had a few questions during our stay and received very prompt responses.

Wonderful stay

The house is such a gem! Great location- although I don’t think you could have a bad location on Jekyll island! The whole island is wonderful. We came to town for a tennis tournament and even though it ended up getting cancelled due to rain- we still had a fabulous time on the island and at the home. There was plenty of space for us and we all enjoyed the home. Will definitely rent again!

Very clean, nicely furnished, great beds

This place was geared toward guest comfort. I can’t think of anything negative to say about it. The king bed was very comfortable, which sometimes is is not the case away from home. Four stars for location was only because it’s two blocks off the main beach road. Great place if you have dogs, The fenced backyard was wonderful for them. Highly recommend and would go back.

Summer vacation in Jekyll

This is our second year staying at Anchors Away. The place is well kept up and is perfect for my family. The fenced in backyard was great for our 4 legged kids. We were visited by deer each day which is a highlight for my wife. I highly recommend this place.

Best sleep- EVER !!!

Very clean and modern inside. We had enough towels, dish soap, Keurig, seating and space. The Island is perfectly quaint and unique. We stayed for 2 weeks and it felt warm and cozy. We would book this house again

Everything you need for a beach vacation

Anchors Away had everything my family needed for a relaxing beach vacation. The kitchen had plenty of space and all the appliances we needed. It has a nice grill and fire pit on the patio plus a hose to wash off our sandy feet when we got back from the beach. The beach is an easy two block walk and much quieter than the beaches near the hotels. Everything was very clean, thank you for a wonderful stay on beautiful Jekyll Island!

Fabulous location and lovely home on Jekyll Island

We stayed at Anchors Away on Jekyll Island as a stop-over on our way from Ft. Myers to Boone, NC. We were impressed with the spacious flow of the house and lovely furnishings. Every room was clean and comfortable (including the main bedroom mattress) with nice linens and towels. The backyard has a deck area and fenced in lawn off the patio that was ample space for our border collies. This is a duplex home and it was quiet even with neighbors next door. The location is great as it is less than a 5minute walk to the beach access! The beach was beautiful, clean and not too crowded (we were there from 6/26-6/29/24). We enjoyed seeing the deer at various places along the walk to the beach as they appear to be comfortable in the neighborhood where it is quiet with lovely trees and vegetation. The property manager was available when we needed to communicate with her and she was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed a fabulous meal from the Beach House restaurant (shrimp and grits)! We did take-out since we did not want to dine-out with the pups and the restaurant is less than 5 minutes away and had great take-out service. We enjoyed our stay at Anchors Away and we will be making our reservation to return there next June! We highly recommend this lovely home is you visit Jekyll Island! Blaise and Karen

Great Place to Stay!!!

Excellent proximity to beach and other island amenities. Place was extremely clean, well maintained, and stocked with all the extras you wouldn’t even expect (k-cups, beach chairs, beach towels, etc.). Would absolutely stay there again.
