My stay at this hotel was unfortunately a bit underwhelming. A few basics were missing right from the start: no notebook or pen in the room, and not even a proper chair to sit on. There was also no room for it, tbh. The cleaning staff would leave the windows open all day so when we got to the room in the evening, there was a strong BBQ/smokey smell coming in, which wasn’t very pleasant. Housekeeping was inconsistent: the tea was only replenished once, there were no face towels, and I ended up with two shampoos but no body wash. Small details, but they add up. Noise was also an issue. I was woken up by people moving chairs at 1 AM and again at 3 AM, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Room was located under the breakfast room and despite me bringing this to the attention of the guest reception, nothing was done. Lastly, despite booking through Expedia, I didn’t seem to receive any of the usual perks that come with it. Overall, not a terrible stay, but definitely not what I expect when staying at a 5*.

Staff were polite and nice. Excellent location. Breakfast was ok, not a huge selection. We only chose this hotel as it had a spa which we couldn't use as it was fully booked on the day we had free, so highly recommend you book way in advance your 30 min allowance to use the facilities.

This was my second stay at this hotel, and there are definitely things I like about it. The location is great, the staff are kind and helpful, and overall it’s a comfortable place to stay. We booked a Superior Golden Horn View Room because one of the photos showed a corner panoramic view of the Golden Horn. However, when we arrived, I realized the view from our room was not what I expected. The staff explained that a different photo actually shows this room, and the one I was hoping for was a Junior Suite—but there was no way for me to know that from the listing. I was willing to pay extra to move to the Junior Suite, but unfortunately it wasn’t available. The hotel apologized and offered us a different room, which we accepted, though I was still a little disappointed. It’s now been a month since my stay, and I see that the same misleading photo is still shown under the wrong room category. Just a note for travelers: if you are booking the Superior Golden Horn View Room, be aware that photo #9 does not represent this room.

The hotel is quite nice. However, the area around it seems abandoned. The building right in front of the hotel seems like a ghost town. When I arrived at the hotel, I did not receive any welcoming gifts or showcases of how to get around the city. I had to ask for all this. My friend who was staying in Istanbul at the same time at his hotel received thousands of gifts and treats every time he entered the lobby. They also gave him a free IST card to get around the city. They walked him around the area to help understand how the city works. His hotel was 4 stars and this one is 5 and didn't do bare minimum except charge 6 dollars for a box of gum. I wouldn’t recommend staying here after hearing all the other great hotels out there. My friend stayed at the Golden Horn Bosporus hotel.

Wonderful location and roof top

Lovely rooms, nice modern bathrooms. Lovely roof top and breakfast area. Friendly and welcoming staff who helped us with reservations and directions and taxis. Easy to tram or walk everywhere. Rooms weee Spacious and has hanging space and usb plugs. All toiletries were so nice.

From the moment we arrived until the time we checked-out, we were treated like royalty. I say that literally. The staff were amazing. If I had to list the names of those that went above and beyond, I would simply write "All". We stayed for 9 days 8 nights. The room was spotless and perfect. Everything we needed was there. (On my wife's birthday, the third day of the trip, we came back to our room and an amazing, and delicious, chocolate cake with Happy Birthday written on it with plates and a whole spread, was left in the room. I never told them it was her birthday) The view from our room plus the view from the restaurant were stunning. An amazing lounge area for drinks in the lobby. Location could not have been better. We walked everywhere. Galata Tower is a brief, steep walk from the front doors as well as the Galata Bridge If you are still scrolling through hotels and are reading this review, I urge you to book your stay here. You will be extremely satisfied. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again and again. 5 Stars+ Thank you.

Hotel is very average, not 5 star, nothing special. Service needs to improve, no one to help with getting bags down stairs at departure. Very limited choice of food, nowhere to get a lighter meal. Nice views from bar and good location but not worth the 5 star prices

Really disappointed. We arrived at night to be shown to our room, we only released in the morning it had no outside windows!! So was dark and had no air. Imagine putting guests that are staying for 3 nights in a room like that. I was really excited about the stay, was really disappointed. Front desk staff were cold, it wasn’t a nice atmosphere. I expected more from this brand.

As a family of 10 we thoroughly enjoy our stay at the Galata Hotel at the end of October 2024. We were there 3 nights and 4 days. Hotel is pleasant, the rooms were large and very comfortable. The hotel accommodated us by having all our rooms next to each other. The staff and service was impeccable, very warm, welcoming and attentive. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone for making our holiday special. The location is great and near shops, cafes and restaurants. Advisable to be fit as there are some steps and some steep roads not lasting more than a few minutes before you enter the main tourist area.
