We have stayed at this property a number of times and have generally been very satisfied with the property. This time was very different. It feels like unfortunately, the owner has really let the property go. The property is tired and was missing very critical kitchen items (cutting board, coffee maker didn't have a corresponding coffee pot, etc.). We also had to replace 3 lightbulbs that didnt work. There were no beach items like chairs, umbrella, towels, etc. Additionally, the dryer lint trap hadnt been cleaned in what looked like months, the dishwasher had standing water in the bottom of it downstairs, so we couldn't/didn't use it and washed the dishes by hand. The screens on the screened in porch are ripped, so bugs got in and the door on the screened in porch downstairs would barely close. Any one of these things would have been fine, but in aggregate its unfortunately just a sign of poor management of the property and lack of investment by the owner. Hopefully they will look to address this and clean up the property and invest in it again, especially given how expense if was to rent the entire house for the week, but at this point, it doesn't seem like they care because the location allows them to consistently rent it even if the product isn't good.
