I had a horrible experience at the Au Charner. This is a property that does not deserve its stars. My first room was freezing and very very damp. Everything became wet and I had to switch rooms. The next room had an air purifier and a dehumidifier and was not cold, but I realized that the windows were open and when closed there was a smell of smoke and the air conditioner did not work. It was a horrid night. I did not sleep. The decor is strange. They myst gave renovated at some point but only certain things. They tried to make the bathroom look modern but failed miserably. We arrived at 10 pm to the second room and walked out at 5 am. I could not take another minute. Way overpriced for this as well. When I informed the staff that the air conditioner did not work, his only concern was where I put the second key to the room. Keep away

The room was spacious, clean and furnished nicely with pictures and plants. It had a huge shower and a bathtub. The staff were very friendly and professional. Am staying there, without hesitation when i return to Ho Chi Minh city.

The hotel location is under rated. The Tet decoration on Nguyen Hue street is a veey short walk. The self-serve laundry on the rooftop of the Big Pig bar is just around the corner. It is close to the many restaurants from dine-in restaurants to delicious street foods. There is a hole-in-the-wall nextdoor to the hotel called Banh Canh Cua. The currency exchange has one of the best rates down the street from the hotel. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful with my requests and needs. I will definitely stay here in the future!

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The suites were not we understood them to be, basically means a larger room. No views from the rooms even from the higher floors, Hotel pool is tiny, don’t be misled by the photos! Location is brilliant, central to all the places you want to see in district 1. If you are confident don’t get a hotel taxi pick up as the cost is over 4 times the cost of a local taxi

This was a great hotel, very good location for us. Staff were amazingly welcoming and always went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices, with the inevitable egg station. There was always cool drinks available free of charge in the dining room,regardless of when you arrived back at the hotel. Swimming pool on the roof was a good size. There were only six loungers but also seats so it worked well. Afternoon tea was a lovely thought

Service and location is good. The hotel is a bit run down more like a 2.5 or 3 start hotel. The room was not quite like the pictures and a bit smaller in my mind. Be aware, the showers are usually in the patio area.
