Na Hoku, la casa de la playa de arriba

Na Hoku es la parte de arriba de nuestro dúplex en la bahía. Lleva el nombre de las estrellas que brillan sobre Hanalei. Hay una gran vista de la bahía desde la terraza cubierta, sala de estar y comedor. Tiene dos habitaciones con un rey en una habitación y 2 gemelos en la otra. El baño tiene una combinación de bañera y ducha. Hay una cocina completa para preparar sus favoritos frescos de la isla. El salón también tiene un gemelo plegable que puede acomodar a otra persona. (La ocupación estándar es de 4 huéspedes, pero puede acomodar hasta 5, se aplica una tarifa adicional para invitados)

Ubicado al final de Weke Road, el camino frente a la bahía, y alineado con el centro de la bahía, es bastante perfecto. Desde la sala de estar del piso superior, se mira directamente hacia el norte, hacia el centro de la bahía de Hanalei, enmarcada y acentuada por palmeras y árboles de hierro. Desde el lanai tienes la percha perfecta para ver surf, kite surf, botes y belleza mientras disfrutas de una comida o un cóctel nocturno. Lo único mejor que estar en el lanai es quizás flotar en el agua y disfrutar de la playa.

No toda la vida de vacaciones es sin un ligero esfuerzo. Si necesita lavar la ropa, el piso de arriba, el de abajo y el estilo antiguo comparten la lavadora y secadora de monedas en un lindo y pequeño edificio a solo unos pasos. También hay una ducha de agua fría y caliente en el lateral para enjuagar la arena y la sal después de la playa (mucho más divertido que ducharse en el interior.

Nunca se sabe lo que verá en la playa. ¡Muchas personas vienen aquí para casarse, renovar votos, celebrar aniversarios, cumpleaños, incluso para bautizarse! Las carreras de canoas, surfistas, kite surfistas, pescadores, navegantes, jugadores de voleibol disfrutan de la playa y la bahía. Incluso con toda esta actividad, la mayoría de las personas experimentan la playa con menos personas de las que podrían haber soñado. Lo que sea que esté sucediendo en el agua, estarás en la imagen cuando vengas a Hanalei. Disfrutarás de sol, lluvia, surf, arcoiris y un pequeño pueblo ubicado en un lugar fabulosamente hermoso.

Location! Location! Location!

Location cannot be beat. Just steps to Hanalei Beach, and less than 1 mile into town. The Hanalei Pier is only a 20 min walk along the beach. The house itself is nothing fancy, but the views and location are incredible. Huge open front lawn is perfect for kids to run and play. My 13, 10, and 7 year old boys had a blast. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Great beach cottage

The location of this property cannot be beat. Beautiful views, right on the beach with a huge grassy area in front. Great for kids to play. Very relaxing to sit on the wonderful deck and enjoy coffee, meals, reading and just about anything. Walkable to town or a very quick drive. The apartment itself is very clean but a little tired. It also very basic. No AC and the bedrooms get hot in afternoon sun. Also no curtains so there is a lot of light. Bring your sleep mask if you are sensitive to light. No dishwasher. It was, however very relaxing to stay here and we’d like to come back to this area. We enjoyed the Nepali coast catamaran tour. The pick up point is just a two minute drive away. Also enjoyed Postcards restaurant for a special meal. Lots of fun taking a ukulele lesson at Hanalei strings. All in all, it was wonderful stay.

Beautiful location!

We had a lovely week at this rental. It was perfect for my husband and me. We loved the peaceful vibe of Hanalei, and the access to the beach and beach/ocean views were amazing. The sound of the surf was lovely. We would love to return!

Fantastic location right across the lawn from the beach. Stunning views from the porch. It is an old classic pine and plywood construction, nothing fancy, but extremely clean and well-provisioned. People downstairs had a 1 year old and it wasn’t too loud. There’s a laundry hut that was very convenient and an outdoor shower. We will absolutely book here again!

Perfect spot for relaxing

The property is not fancy, but it is a perfect Hanalei getaway. Close to town, but away from the touristy part of Hanalei. There is no air conditioner, but with the trade winds and fans we found it to be an even better experience to enjoy the elements. We hope to be back!

Lovely Hanalei Hideaway

magical every time

This property is a return visit for many years. The deck is the main enjoyment and you could sit there all day and read and watch the ocean, or just walk down to it. It is close enough to town, especially on a cruiser bike. I will be returning every year! Managers are very responsive and friendly.

Amazing location and comfortable home

We think we had the best spot on the beach. We grilled out many nights and enjoyed the boogie boards. The beds are comfortable and the house is equipped with what you need for the week. The walk to the beach is easy and the actual beach spot is perfect.

Perfect Beach Shack

Such a perfect vibe to be in this “rustic beach shack” as I like to think of it. Small and simple with everything you need and nothing you don’t it seems to fit right into the landscape with its faded turquoise presence echoing all of the green tones surrounding it. Yes, the paint may be peeling off a bit, but that’s the charm. You sort of feel like you are a local here in this dwelling as so many places work so hard to be so desperately opulent while this place fits right in to the vibe like your favorite pair of faded jeans. The huge lawn is amazing and the covered patio is the perfect place to take in the sights and sounds of a rain storm. We hope to be back.

Still My Favorite VRBO of All Time

My husband and I stayed at Na Hoku for the 5th time this year, and it remains my absolute favorite VRBO. Hanalei is of course delightful, but this house makes it perfect. The house has a lovely functional layout with all the amenities we need, but the lanai is what keeps us coming back. We usually come in winter and so storms are to be expected on the North Shore. I *love* having a meal on the covered lanai while it’s pouring rain, watching the surf and listening to the geckos. And if it’s sunny and warm, the lanai catches the breeze off the ocean to keep you comfortable. It really is paradise. This year, I also appreciated the several upgrades to the house (furnishings, fans, etc) that have been done since our last visit. If this place is available, book it! Just leave a week or so open for us each year…

Amazing views

It was like staying at grandma and grandpa’s house - and we loved it! Very comfortable and made you feel at home. The view was AMAZING! I was able to sit on the porch and work while on vacation… every time I looked up from work I was able to see the beautiful water and beach!

Great property

Location, location, location! So lovely to be beach front, and we loved the beach on Hanalei Bay. We stayed in late December with huge waves--so fun to watch. We were lucky to have mostly sunny days and temps in the mid 70's. Great location for hiking in Na Pali. The house is exactly as advertised: two clean bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen with everything you need, great lanai with great views. Furnishings and finishes are simple, clean, comfortable, and perfect for a beach stay. We visited the south of the island and Lihue area--beaches not nearly as nice as Hanalei Bay!

Great stay in Hanalei

We had a wonderful stay, house was as described in the listing. It was great having a covered lanai to watch the waves, especially in the rain. It was a short walk across the lawn to the beach and the walk into town was quick and quite well lit at night. Any questions I had were answered via email quickly. My husband and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great Location- House is of need of upgrades

The location is fabulous and the management company is great. However, the bathroom door does not shut, the kitchen came with no foil, one roll of paper towels, two cotton kitchen towels, and we were told if we wanted more paper towels for clean up to buy them ourselves, and we were told to buy TP as well. Additionally, the TV in the bedroom has a one inch vertical brown stripe down the screen, the remotes are wacked out, the bathroom flooring was damaged by water, instead of removing and replacing the flooring they screwed down a piece of aluminum stripping to stop it from curling up. The bathroom is like my old building college rental bathrooms. The location and the lanai is outstanding, but for the price, you can provide some items like TP, two rolls for a family for a week? The solar lights on the stairs do not work, and if you need to walk up the stairs in the dark, bring a flashlight, especially if it is raining. People at management office are very nice, and we have rented three homes on Weke Road, and I can do rustic, and we lived in the South Pacific, so it is not as though we need everything all perfect. They just can give a little TLC and attention to detail to make it just fine.

The crash of the waves

You can hear the crash if the waves from the bedrooms. The porch is deep enough to keep you dry and a stroll across the lawn gets you to the beach. It’s a ten minute walk to restaurants and shops. What else can you ask for
