Check out staff poor. It's an old building, which means they have to work with the layout, so lifts are in a odd location, reception area is poor, rooms starting to look dated, and rooms are small with poor layout. At this price point there are better options in Glasgow. I think staff training is poor compared to same tier hotels. Staff should be trained not to stop serving the customer in favour of a new customer (happened twice and we were kept waiting for ages). NO VIP perks available or offered. Look elsewhere until they up their game.

Erin in reception was amazing and the hotel was spotless and beautifully modern. The housekeeping staff were really kind too. Central to everything loved our stay so much.

Booked a double deluxe and given room 1013. For a deluxe there was no view, stains in the carpet, wall paper pealing so we were moved to 1203. Only a partial view, yet more stains on the carpet and a stale damp smell. Breakfast was very underwhelming with heavily diluted orange juice, everything oven cooked with exception of special order eggs. Very nice looking hotel however I believe they were lacking staff for such a busy weekend. We also booked breakfast via hotel.com app @ £23pp when hotel offered for £14pp

Lovely hotel but unfortunately small things let it down. Found breakfast was fairly basic, expected more for £18 price tag. No smoked salmon or kippers, no pancakes or vegetarian sausages. Nowadays a fry up just isn’t enough given dietary restrictions. Towel hook missing on back of bathroom door. Found mattress very comfortable.

Nice stay

Really nice hotel in a good location. We booked a deluxe room which when we got in was not great. The bed is small and our view looked out into a courtyard with bins and another hotel. We asked for another room and got an upgrade to a executive room that looked onto the river. I would definitely recommend paying a bit more and getting this room as the bed is big and very comfortable. The bar staff are very nice and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the city.

Good but not perfect

No major complaints about the room, we had a river view on the 14th floor and it was very nice. Having to ask for the room to be serviced on day 2 was a bit disappointing. The major disappointment was the restaurant. Empty on a Friday night but warned by the waitress that they were short staffed and the food may take some time to arrive. If only she had told us this salient fact before we had ordered our food and drinks. They then failed to deliver the sides we'd ordered with our mains. Until about 10 minutes later when they delivered them to our table as we were finishing. What are we supposed to do with them then? They comped our drinks which was nice but very disappointed.
