Pomette, an authentic holiday house with private pool in the Lot, Dordogne

This authenticholiday house with private pool in the Lot, Dordogne called ‘La Pomette’, is a typical French holiday home situated in a small hamlet, with no traffic or noise whatsoever. The hamlet is centred around the old chateau and is a part of the village Florimont-Gaumiers (181 inhabitants), at about 15 minutes from the river ‘the Dordogne’.

Before July 4th and after August 29th, the price on the website is based on a maximum of 6 people. If you would also like to rent the small cottage, you pay an additional 250 euros + 75 euros extra cleaning costs. The cottage is never rented out to other people.

Interior
La Pomette, built around 1700, has three separated bedrooms and an attic bedroom for 4 children, so ideal for 8 to 10 persons. The extra little cottage, which is situated at only 10 meters from the main house, has a kitchen, living room, bathroom and two extra smaller bedrooms for each two persons. This means that 4 extra people can stay in La Pomette, so 14 in total. La Pomette has 3 bathrooms, 2 with a shower and 1 with a bathtub, you’ll also find the washing machine here. The 2 toilets are separated. The interior is very basic, but the house is lovely to spend summertime with your family and/or friends.

Outside
From the main house, the terraces or the garden you have a panoramic view over the hills . The main house is created by adding three different cottages together, it now has a total of 250 m2.

When sleeping in one of the three bedrooms downstairs, you can get out of bed in the morning and walk straight to the swimming pool! This charming but authentic holiday home is decorated with personal taste. Next to the spacious living room with fire place you will find the kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine etc. Next to the kitchen there’s a large covered and heated terrace, with an outdoor kitchen, perfect to have a delicious lunch or dinner outside.

Scattered over the property you'll find several terraces, some big enough to sit with all the members of your family like the one next to the pool with a stone barbecue and "jeu de boule" area.

Surroundings
Close to this holiday home are Domme (15 minutes), La Rocque-Gageac (15 minutes) and Sarlat (25 minutes). Every Friday morning there is a biological market with fresh products from the local farmers in Salviac where you find also a small supermarket, a bakery and a fantastic butcher with delicious meat. Larger supermarkets are in Gourdon (15 minutes). If you love cycling you’ll also love this area as there are many cycling tracks.
