Buffet Breakfast was terrible - plastic wrapped dry croissants, bowl of apples, cheap sliced bread etc. hugely disappointing and seating outside when it’s very cold first thing in the morning. No room upgrade provided. Bedding in room 104 was a sheet and throw (not thick fabric) so I was very cold all night. WC made constant flushing noise which hotel did sort but got no sleep first night. Room 10 (my sisters room) - shower room with curtain very basic; room is behind reception, with bed up wooden stairs on a mezzanine and no space to move around. Mum was in room 109 which had slightly more space but still very basic. There’s nowhere to sit if you get back from visiting sites and want a cup of tea other than seating along one wall of entrance hallway. Trying to get a taxi into the centre of Florence was impossible early morning - there just weren’t any available so it’s a little too far out as a good 30 minute walk into the centre. Tip- get the local no11 bus which is nearby. Gardens of the hotel aren’t particularly well cared for. Photos make this hotel look a lot nicer than it is. We were pretty disappointed. It was clean and staff were helpful but overall experience was poor.
