The house is very comfortable and the kitchen was quite well equipped. One thing lacking though was placemats for the dining table, and we were told to use the pot holders for protecting the table. Also, the 4 slice toaster only worked for 2 slices as it had been damaged on one side, so that wasn't great when there's 6 people.The décor is very tasteful, however there could be a few more pieces of furniture than just the basics. It would also have been nice to have a coffee table in the living room for our drinks and snacks. A coffee table in the lower level games room would also be useful and maybe put a cabinet under the TV to store the games instead of them just being piled on the floor. We really didn't spend much time in that room though as it was too cold to sit down there for any length of time. All in all, we enjoyed our relaxing Haliburton break with family.

It was a great stay. Exactly what I had imagined and hoped for. The cottage was beautiful with many windows allowing us to view the outside with all the snow. The spa area was my favorite and I am already planning to rebook the same place again.

This was a lovely property! The outdoor spaces were delightful, and we enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. The photographs accurately reflected the interior and exterior spaces, and the interior was comfortable and well-laid-out. We especially loved how light-filled the house was, and the walk-out level game and television room was definitely a bonus! The host was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again!

Would’ve been fantastic if it wasn’t for the fact I had to reach out to the property host right before the trip to get check in information and if the place was cleaned before we arrived. For the amount of money paid for three nights to show up and the place is absolutely disgusting with hair, messy beds, food left over in the fridge, trash, as well as towels in the washing machine with an odour in the house of sweaty dudes, it would’ve been great. Spent two hours cleaning to then be told they could send a cleaner at 10pm that night. Told them to send it the next day. Contacted VRBO and getting refunded. Seems like a great place but the management is terrible. Nothing has been done yet to rectify the situation besides trying to have cleaners come during our stay. By the way this was for a bachelor party for my brother. You’d think something of that magnitude would result in some care. Disappointed overall.

Nice place

My husband and I stayed for two nights to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is a nicely built cottage with lots of amenities. It was clean, but in need of a deep clean. We would go again! Thank you for having us!

Property is nice on the inside. Location is not favourable as it is not lakefront and doesn’t have many opportunities for lakefront activities nearby. Otherwise it is fun if you enjoy sauna and hot tubs and bbqs.

Weekend Retreat

Beautiful well-maintained house with lots of amenities. My sister and I enjoyed making ourselves lattes in the morning using the coffee station and relaxing on the deck. Lots of space for a bigger group and very close to Haliburton.

Absolutely gorgeous and fun

The cottage itself was both cozy and luxurious. The host definitely thought of all the details and we felt welcomed. I only wished the description mentioned the outdoor surveillance cameras, but they weren't a deal breaker and I would probably want them there, too, if I were the host. The beach and huge playground in town were just a short drive and made the kids' week. We made some great memories here. Thank you!!

Thanksgiving at the Blue Cottage

We had a lovely stay, beautiful and clean cottage with lots of space. We enjoyed the onsite hot tub and sauna as well as lots of fall walks on nearby cottage roads.

Peaceful and perfect Lakehouse

If you are in the Haliburton area, this house should be at the top of your list of places to stay. It is spotless and well-appointed, tucked away on a quiet road. We had a restful and comfortable stay :)

Just wonderful

This property is amazing, everything seemed to have been considered to make life comfortable. Facilities were great and as described. Beautiful kitchen great open spaces. Cleanliness was second to none. Practical aspects of life including facilities for washing clothes were to a very high standard. Fitted our family comfortably, kids also had a great time. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The Blue Lakehouse

We had an amazing stay at The Blue Lakehouse. The property is perfect for a family, and the surroundings beautiful. Lini was an incredible host. Accommodating, responsive and respectful. This spot is highly recommended for a weekend away.

Fantastic Girls Weekend

Blue Lake House Haliburton

The Blue Lake House is a hidden gem in Haliburton. We had a great time as a family visiting and will definitely be going back in the future. The owner was easy to contact and was quick to answer any questions we had.

Winter Weekend

Lovely stay at this beautiful property

We had a great time at this property. It is well maintained, clean, and very comfortable. We were very impressed with how well stocked it was - little things like having coffee pods and olive oil available make planning so much easier. The hot tub was a major plus. Lini was very responsive and ensured we had a great stay. Look forward to booking our next stay!
