With the Highland Sage as your home base in Durango, you will be able to park your car and walk everywhere in town. Walk four blocks and arrive at the heart of downtown with its restaurants, cafes, shops and the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
The home is a pleasant and comfortable half-duplex with a fully enclosed landscaped back yard with patio and grill. There are three bedrooms and one bath. Kitchen and bath are updated and kitchen is well-equipped with stainless steel pots and pans and nice dishware. The queen bedroom is on one side of the living room and kitchen, and the double and single rooms are on the other side. The twin room contains a desk should guests want a dedicated workspace.
The Highland Sage offers plenty of storage in closets, kitchen cabinetry, and a large mudroom which is great for gear storage. The beds are are comfortable - a good night's sleep is key! Evaporative cooling in the Summer also provides for restful nights.
Main Avenue and downtown are an easy 4-block walk, as is the the Nature Trail and Sky Steps that climb up to Fort Lewis Collage and an expansive overview of downtown, the river and train. The neighborhood is pedestrian and dog-friendly and the block on which the Highland Sage resides is especially quiet and peaceful.
Guests are welcome to bring two pups, provided they don't get on furniture and aren't big barkers. No cats (sorry). Note that after booking, you will receive a brief rental agreement to review and sign with basic items including no parties and no pets unless included on reservation.
The Highland Sage has dedicated use of the fenced backyard while the other half of the duplex has dedicated use of the front deck, allowing for privacy and each for each of the homes.
With a large entry room for gear storage, extensive kitchen cabinet storage and the backyard to stretch out in, the Highland Sage is very enjoyable for longer stays.
