The room was only okay. On site management for check in is easy. Views are non-existent (only window looks into adjacent condos). The room was about 90 degrees when we arrived because the thermostat has no temperature markings, so it was a fight the whole trip to find a comfortable temp. No instructions for use of the Murphy bed, which is electric but seemed that part didn’t function. No firewood provided. Overall there’s so much furniture that makes the small space very claustrophobic. In general, it’s clearly just set up as a short term rental without much effort, as opposed to a curated space that the owner put some heart and thought into.

Nice little place, comfy and cozy. You walk through one building and you're right at the bottom of the mountain with the lifts.

Ski Getaway

Great location, so easy to come and go while skiing. The property is next to everything you could need. Hot tub was nice and the room itself was cozy. Great place for a quick ski getaway. I’m not a big fan of having to download an app just to figure out how to check in but just pay close attention and it’s straightforward. Really awesome place!

Solo ski trip

First time staying within walking distance of ski lift/in Purgatory Village. Very convenient. Elevator didn’t work on 1st floor when I first arrived but it was fixed after a couple of days. Unit is small but perfect for 1-2 people. Nice to have kitchenette/fridge/stove for storing/fixing meals to cut down on costs. Would rent this unit again

Great location

This property had a great location. Just steps to the slopes practically. If you are staying with more than 2 people it is small. Felt like we were on top of each other. However the beds were very comfy, the staff very friendly, and the building was quiet. I would definitely book here again.

The mountain hosts on site were unbelievably friendly and helpful. The condo was a bit small for us but totally convenient and in great condition. We felt oh so welcome. Just a short few steps from the locker room to the lift. Thank you the hospitality.

Perfect Purgatory studio

My goal of training endurance AND at elevation for hiking in France was perfectly served with this cute efficiency studio. Well equipped kitchen and amenities. Hot tub down the hall and laundry. Note! No AC but wicked fans served me well.👣😎❤️ The location allows access to soooo many hikes. Ski resort/mt Bike offers couple good restaurants with couple more on the way to Durango.

Walking down the hall to the rooftop hot tub, sauna, and steam room was a perfect way to start our mornings and unwind in the evenings.Just take the elevator down to the first floor, and you are greeted by a very convenient market before walking out to the slopes. The condo had everything we needed. There was plenty of closet space to unpack our winter gear. The Queen Murphy bed was extremely comfortable, as well as the futon. Plenty of blankets and extra pillows and linens are provided.There are shoe racks by the entry door to kick off your snow boots and a wall heater to defrost your gear. The fireplace was a lovely addition to have, as well! Plenty of firewood was provided.The Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and dishwater, and we had plenty of cleaning supplies for our stay.This was my first time to Purgatory, and the location was great. We spent some days exploring the neighboring towns and shopping in Durango, which was about a 25 minute drive.

A decent little ski-in/ski-out...with some concerns

So first of all, the listing is accurate and you can't beat staying on the resort for a weekend of skiing. The studio is great for singletons, couples, or small families. That being said, I have some concerns about staying here in peak times. Be very aware the check in and check out times are 4pm - 10am...a very slim window and farore conservative than most comparable properties. Don't expect early check in to be available, either. The check out instructions also ask you to do quite a bit of cleaning, despite having quite a slim window to do so if you're trying to enjoy a vacation on the slopes. I'd recommend if guests are asked to do quite a bit of pre-check out tidying, the checkout be extended to 11 or 12 - as most other Purgatory rentals have. This was annoying, but not my greatest concern: cleanliness. I had serious reservations as to whether the bed linens were washed between guests. The Murphy bed, upon being pulled down, did not have a standard bed set with a quilt. There were sheets, pillow, and a fleece throw in lieu of a comforter. This isn't acceptable at the prices requested for this property. There were women's hairs all over the pillow cases and sheets, and the top sheet did not smell like clean laundry, but perfume or room spray. Additionally, there wasn't a full set of linens for the futon. If you advertise the futon as a separate bed for use, a full bed set needs to be provided for both. Lastly, there were some smells in the room upon arrival. I hate to say it had an ammonia of urine...but...that's what our noses picked up. After one night it did dissipate, but our initial impressions were not fantastic. The towel bar in the bathroom was also partially hanging from the wall. Here's the thing. We would gladly stay here again. Maybe the cleaners experienced some hiccups this weekend or something. We try not to be TOO critical, but given the price and the check-in/check-out times (presumably to accommodate a thorough cleaning and reset between guests)...we just won't be visiting this property again until we can be sure the experience will be a more positive one.

Texans came to ride!

Loved our stay. Little hot this week in Purgatory. With no air, could have used another fan. We would most definitely stay in this condo again. Very well located for UTV riding on the mountain. Many activities at the lodge.
