Hotels on the Lake in Chesterton from $91

"This was easily one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever survived. Check-in started strong with after waiting 30+ min staff telling me I didn’t even have a reservation of the room with garden tub (shoutout to Expedia for apparently having imaginary photos of rooms). After settling, we got a room that smelled like a mix of gas station weed and straight-up farts. Amenities? Questionable. The hot tub had commitment issues (half the jets didn’t work), and the “heated” pool felt like an ice bath training session. The thermostat in the room was broken, so we got to enjoy a full-on sauna experience all night—paired nicely with highway noise loud enough to simulate sleeping on the shoulder. Then came the 1:30 AM fire alarm. We all marched down three flights of stairs and stood around for 20 minutes with zero staff in sight. Turns out someone’s vape caught fire… which we learned from the person responsible in the elevator later. Reassuring. Breakfast was the final boss: broken cereal dispenser, coffee that tasted aggressively like hazelnut regret, and warm yogurt (??). Honestly, I would’ve felt safer and more comfortable sleeping in my car. 0/10, would not return. "

"There are many restaurants very close. The rooms were very clean and the one person that shined at this property was a Staff member that cleaned all the rooms and helped guests with all their questions. She alone is a 5 star 🌟 "
