Central location wirhin la rochelle close to beach and shopping centres. The property is quaint, historic and beautiful, the hotel works within the classic building without disturbing the classic architecture. The owner and all staff make an enormous difference to your stay being helpful, accomodating and welcoming. Breakfast is a good buffet variety in a clean and bright room. Good value and would stay again

Slightly dusty old hotel which we were happy to consider as "character", others might consider it to be rather tired. We were able to park our motorbike outside the front door but parking a car looked like a bit of a challenge. Location was great being just a few minutes walk to the beach front where are several restaurants.

A typical French hotel

When they say check-in is from 3PM, please be aware: they really *mean* it! Even if you show up at quarter to 3, they'll tell you to go away and get back after 3. Secondly, they have *no* parking, so you will be forced to park by the Tourism Ofiice (within a few hundred meters, but at your own risk). Finally, when booking on Expedia, I was actually looking for a place for 2 adults and a child 5 years old, and I was suggested to book this property as a suitable one. Well, there was a single double bed, and we had to somehow fit in it - all three of us. Frankly, another bed would not have fitted in anyway :) The breakfast is the typical French thing: 2 ridiculously overpriced croissants, so you have been warned. There are a number of places a few blocks away where you'd be served a normal breakfast for the same or lower price. The girls manning the reception were nice, with slightly-better-than-usual-in-France English, coming as a pleasant surprise.

La chambre Ă©tait proche bien que la poussiĂšre au dessus des etagĂšres ou sur le sol de la salle de bain le long du lavabo( au niveau de la porte coulissante) ait Ă©tĂ© oubliĂ©e. Chambre faite chaque jour. Petit souci de chasse d'eau trĂšs vite rĂ©glĂ© par le gĂ©rant. Changement de chambre possible et rapidement effectuĂ© suite chambre en-dessous d'une chambre dite confort ( placard dĂ©fectueux, pas assez de place pour nos affaires, clim mal placĂ©e par rapport au lit ( vers la tĂȘte)). Le choix du petit-dĂ©jeuner Ă©tait un peu juste et les horaires entre le site et sur place sont dĂ©calĂ©s d'une heure ( 7h00 sur le site et 8h00 Ă  l'hĂŽtel) Du coup, obligĂ©s d'attendre 8h00 pour le petit-dĂ©jeuner avant de partir en fin de sĂ©jour. Nous aurions voulu partir plus tĂŽt. Info de l'hĂŽtel comme cafĂ© en libre-service dĂ©couverte par hasard et non communiquĂ©e. ActivitĂ©s proposĂ©es pour le sĂ©jour inadaptĂ©es pour nous (parc aquatique ! Mini-golf! Viste audio d'une Ă©glise !..) Nous aurions prĂ©fĂ©rĂ© une dĂ©gustation d'huĂźtres chez un producteur par exemple. MalgrĂ© tout, l'ensemble du sĂ©jour Ă©tait correct et les employĂ©es accueillantes.
