Welcome to Chalet Meta, a compact riverside chalet in the heart of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Recently renovated by an Australian architect specialising in small-space design, the chalet offers a contemporary alpine atmosphere with warm wood, stone details, and carefully considered lighting.

Arranged over two levels, Chalet Meta is ideal for a couple, or a couple with a small child. Both the bedroom and living area enjoy views toward Mont Blanc, accompanied by the natural sound of the river. The living space centres around a wood-burning fireplace, with a dining area suitable for relaxed meals at home.

The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware and appliances, including a dedicated coffee area. After a day in the mountains, guests can unwind in the private sauna. Outside, a terrace overlooking the river provides a pleasant spot in warmer months.

The chalet combines a calm natural setting with immediate access to transport, shops, and lifts, making it a practical and comfortable base year-round.

The neighbourhood

Chalet Meta is located in southern Chamonix, offering a balance of tranquillity and convenience. The riverside setting creates a calm atmosphere, while the town centre remains within easy walking distance.

The Aiguille du Midi train station is just steps away, providing connections to Flégère and Argentière. The bus station is a five-minute walk, and the Aiguille du Midi cable car and Chamonix main street with shops and restaurants are approximately 200 metres from the chalet.

Other things to note

Chalet Meta is named after pioneering mountaineer Mary Isabella Charlet-Straton, who completed the first winter ascent of Mont Blanc in 1876.

The chalet is compact by design and best suited to couples or solo travellers, with the option to accommodate a child on the sofa bed. Its layout includes stairs and a riverside environment, which may bring gentle ambient outdoor sounds.
