Just a 3-minute drive, or a short walk, will take you to Patton Beach, a dog-friendly beach that is great for swimming. Nearby Patton Beach you will find more entertainment and dining options such as the famous Garwoods Bar, a wonderful lakefront dining experience, CB’s Bistro and Pizza for family dinners, Magic Carpet Mini Golf and Arcade for the little ones, and a 7-11 for all of your late-night needs. The beautiful Carnelian West Beach provides another excellent swimming spot just a 4-minute drive from the home.
In the winter months, you are only 17 minutes from Northstar, 23 minutes to Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, and 10 minutes from the Tahoe City Nordic Center where you will find a huge network of trails for XC Skiing or snowshoeing. Just a 3-minute drive will take you to Patton Beach, and the popular Kings Beach is a 9-minute drive away. In the wintertime, you are centrally located for skiing all of the best resorts with a 25-minute drive or less from three of the area's best ski resorts, Northstar, Squaw Valley ski resort, and Tahoe Nordic Cross Country Center.
For those looking to utilize Tahoe’s FREE public transportation system TART, you will find several public transportation stops just under a mile away from the home on N Lake Blvd. The public transportation TART stop at Hwy 28 at Sierra Boat Co will take you to locations such as Kings Beach, or head the opposite direction and get on the bus at Hwy 28 at Carnelian Woods (Shelter), from here you are a 17-minute bus ride to Tahoe City. Easily connect to other locations at the Tahoe City Transit Center, where you can find buses to locations such as Northstar California Resort.

The pool and lap swim are closed for the season and will re-open after Memorial Day 2025, depending on snow and weather. The hot tub is currently open on weekends, with expanded hours planned for ski season. Tennis courts are available seasonally but currently lack lighting, and the lodge is open daily with hours depending on staffing, offering equipment like bocce balls, volleyballs, and an outdoor ping pong area for sign-out. Please note, there is no barbecue area available for renters.
Charcoal grills are strictly forbidden in this county and will result in a $1,500 citation if used.
4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.

Overall we thought the condo was nice and satisfactory. Some items that could use some updating:1) The upstairs bed felt like a full, not a queen size. I could be wrong but the bed seemed small for a couple.2) The upstairs fan squeaked so bad we had to turn it off at night.3) The heat control was challenging. It became extremely hot upstairs while still being cool downstairs.We would choose another location to stay based on the above items for our next trip.
This unit is spectacular. Beautifully remodeled and on an end-cap-- ie one entire side of the unit faces out to lovely views in addition to the super deck views.Loved this place and looking forward to visiting again. Important note: if you're traveling with folks outside your immediate family, consider that there's only one shower and it's upstairs inside the 'master' bedroom-- meaning you'll have to walk through the bedroom to access. This was not a problem for us because we were a primary family. Also, comms with property management were excellent. We arrived late in the eve and couldn't find our unit in the dark. But someone from the mgmt group was immediately available through text to help us.The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars: the check-in app. We found the app to be pretty bad. No easy way to locate important information-- like directions to the unit--without two or three clicks. Even finding the door code info required some scrolling. A PDF with all of the details would have been preferred by us. The app created more problems than it solved for us.Having said above, this place is super and we hope to stay there again.
