Would love to keep this gem to myself. It's that good. Cannot beat the location and view - steps from the beach. The house itself was clean, well equipped with everything you need for cooking and the beach, has screened-in porches to protect from the bugs, the best WiFi we have had on the island, and lots of room to spread out for a group of 9-10. The pool was perfect and we loved the bar area and outdoor tv for March Madness. The property manager, realtor and owners were all kind, helpful and made sure that we had a wonderful visit. This was our favorite house and group to work with thus far on North Captiva and we can't wait to come back!

Well I love this house so much I don’t even want to share it but I can’t be that selfish. From the views to the accommodations this house is absolutely perfect for a family or a couple say celebrating their retirement?! We watched both the sunrise and the sunset from the fourth level balcony. Swam in the pool everyday and enjoyed the views from inside and out! The owners put a lot of thought and effort into making this the most perfect getaway and we’re so grateful to them for their efforts! Thanks so much to all involved, Sarah, Kale, Debbie and of course to Denise for the beautiful memories!See you again!

Perfect beach house!

Our family has visited North Captiva four times and this is by far our favorite home of all! It’s a gorgeous retreat and so beautifully decorated. The property managers were very helpful and knowledgeable. The home is spacious with plenty of natural light. The views were spectacular from all levels. Everyone’s favorite spot was the loft area overlooking the beach where we could spot dolphins in the mornings and around sunset. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. The upper deck was perfect for stargazing. The house is very well equipped with everything from kitchenware to beach gear. There is a bar area by the pool with a TV and an outdoor shower to keep the sand outside. The home includes two really great golf carts which were so much fun! We can’t wait to go back!

Paradise. Spacious, peaceful and perfectly stocked.

Our family of nine stayed in this incredible Captiva Island home, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The layout is so well thought out that we could spread out when we needed a little quiet time without ever feeling disconnected or anti-social. It truly strikes that rare balance of togetherness and space.The home is beautifully maintained, filled with natural light, and the views from the deck are breathtaking. Whether we were playing in the pool, relaxing on the balcony, or gathering around the table, every space felt inviting and easy to enjoy.Best of all? The house was FULLY stocked with everything we could possibly need kitchenware, beach gear, games, towels, you name it. It made settling in effortless.This home gave us the space to make memories, relax deeply, and just be together. We left feeling recharged and already dreaming of coming back. Absolutely unforgettable.

It was Serendipitous that we found this house after VRBO double-booked our original house!

We enjoyed the comfort of watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from Serendipity. This house has spectacular views of the Gulf of America and the rest of North Captiva. Denise the owner was in constant contact with us accommodating our every need including the ones we had for our Grandchildren. (5 months and 3 years) This house is beautiful inside and out and has every comfort you want for a dream vacation. Kale and Sarah Dudding the property managers were very attentive and available 24/7 with any questions. We will return to relax and enjoy Serendipity with the whole family next year. This was one of our best trips to the Island.

Great first stay at N Captiva. House is in a great location and property manager was extremely responsive. Stayed through tropical storm Debby and generator kept the house on line and everyone comfortable. Owners and property manager were always in contact and answered any questions and/or needs.

Excellent getaway

If you are looking to unwind and relax, thus is a great place to do it. House was roomy, clean, beds were very comfortable. Super close to the beach and enjoyed the private pool. We had an amzing time disconnecting from our normally busy lives. Just an FYI, the few establishments on the island close early. If you're looking for night life, this is not the place. Our college aged kiddos had to adjust to this but it gave us fun game nights by the pool, watching sunsets, and reconnecting with our family.

Great property

This was a perfect location and layout for our two families (4 adults, 4 kids). The house was really nice and clean, great kitchen space and several areas to relax or play. Great location and quick walk to the beach. The pool was one of the nicest we've stayed at and the house had everything we needed. Best house we've rented in our 4 visits.

Fantastic Family Spring Break

Great location and beautiful house

This was our first time to North Captiva. We had a great experience. The house was very clean and in great condition. The property management service from Tortuga was excellent and responsive. The house is in a great location next to the beach with views of the sunset and sunrise at the top of the house daily. We have stayed at multiple houses in the Sanibel/Captiva area and this house is one of the best. We will definitely be going back.

Christmas in Paradise!

Our family of 10 stayed from 12/19/21 thru 12/26/21 and had an amazing time! When we arrived on the ferry, Laurie and Duncan with Tortuga met us and made sure we were taken care of. All of our luggage and groceries were loaded onto a golf cart, and the Serendipity golf carts were waiting for us. Laurie took us to the house, and gave us a short overview of the island on the way. When we arrived at the house, all of our luggage and groceries were taken into the house. She gave a tour of the home and provided an overview of everything on the island. The house is beautiful and was very clean when we arrived. There was plenty of room for everyone and the bedrooms / bathrooms were perfect for us. The kitchen and living room areas are beautiful and there is plenty of space for everyone to spend time together. The kitchen is large and has everything you would need to make meals. There is a regular coffee pot and a Keurig. The refrigerator is large and there is a drink fridge under the counter. There is plenty of cabinet space and lots of dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the house because it is so beautiful and cozy. On each level, there are outdoor decks. The two lower decks are screened and we enjoyed our morning coffee on on the deck outside the living room. The two upper decks are amazing and the views from the rooftop are phenomenal! We watched the sunset from the roof every night we were there. The beach is a 30-second walk from the house and is right next to the airstrip. We enjoyed watching small planes and helicopters take off and land while at the beach. You can also take the golf carts to a larger beach area about 1/2 mile to the south. Then there's the pool at the house... It is perfect! We spent quite a bit of time at the pool and outdoor living area. There is plenty of seating / lounging furniture, a pool bar and an outdoor television. There are also two more small refrigerators in the pool area. The temperature was perfect and the pool area is beautiful. Our first contact for booking was Sarah Rapp and she was wonderful to work with. She answered all my questions and put me in touch with the right people. The owners, Bob and Denise Cowen, were fantastic! They made sure a Christmas tree was up when we arrived. Tortuga took great care of us and delivered groceries and supplies when we needed them. Our overall experience was A+ and we will be returning to Serendipity!

Way Above Our Expectations

My wife, two college sons and wife rented the unit for the week of Thanksgiving. We planned in the grandparents on both sides joining but neither could make it so this was much more house than we needed but man are we glad we reserved this unit. To begin, this is our second stay on the island. We did this last year and used North Captiva Rental then. This time we used Tortuga and they were MUCH MUCH better. Very responsive to all questions, constant contact before the rental, during our stay, and after we left. Too many examples to cite but one example was my son came down with a tonsillitis shortly after arrival and I had to call in an Rx. Their concierge service went to the pharmacy, bought the Rx and delivered it to the house. Loved Tortuga. They can shop ahead for you and stock the kitchen and bar. We drove from Tennessee and grocery shopped ourselves. We had a ton of luggage and groceries and Tortuga handled porting everything for us. Remember to bring cash to tip. Now for the house. It sits 50 feet from the beach. It looks out from every deck to the water with great sunrise and sunset views. The heated pool is wonderful and it has a great seating area under cover with a TV that has a Roku and direct tv. Got to see all the college and nfl games from the heated pool with quick dips in the ocean at half time. Rooms were very comfortable and this unit can comfortably sleep 10-12 people. It’s 5 stories tall with an awesome roof top deck w 360 degree views of ocean. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to do Thanksgiving dinner. I can’t put into words exactly how awesome this place is. We were underwhelmed with the first rental through a N. Captiva Rentals but Serendipity is worth twice what we paid. Thank you to Tortuga for the white glove service. You treated us like royalty.

Everything we Needed and Enjoyed!

The house had everything we needed for our week's stay. From bedrooms, baths, living spaces, pool and bar area, grill area and above all gorgeous ocean views from the entire second floor and the loveseats above and of course the top deck!

2nd year staying on the Island but best experience ever!!!

This is by far the best house we have ever stayed in and we have been vacationing up and down the Florida coast for the last 10 years. The staff, Was welcoming, responsive and they even checked in on us several times just to ask if we needed anything. Tortuga is the best!!! The house was stocked just as if you were at your own home, we were impressed. Will definitely be staying here again next year. You can also tell the owner cares allot of their home , beautifully maintained and decorated.

Sunshine and Seashells Galore!

We had a great stay at Serendipity! The house had plenty of space for our family of four to spread out. We enjoyed all the fun activities at the house including: ping pong, bean bag toss, sunsets on the roof, pool time with plenty of pool toys, star gazing from the deck, and games! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you need to make meals and drinks. Having a washer and dryer was great too! The views from the house were truly spectacular and we enjoyed daily walks on the beach looking for sand dollars, sea shells, turtles, manatees, and dolphins. The kids loved taking golf cart rides. The only issues we had upon arrival were that we were missing several of the promised amenities including: hand soap, toilet paper, trash bags, paper towel, shampoo, and conditioner. We arrived on Saturday and some of the items were not delivered until Tuesday. We eventually got everything we needed, but it would have been nice to have everything at check in. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we loved exploring our first time on North Captiva Island!

4 Geographically Remote Couples Reconnect at Serendipity

I know I can speak for our entire group when I say that we immensely enjoyed the Serendipity House on Seair Lane! The house was as advertised and had all the amenities our group could ask for. We did think that the second Master Bedroom had a king size bed as it appeared to be bigger in the photos. Probably our own oversight in reading the house descriptions. That slight initial disappointment was quickly erased by all of the other house amenities! Both the house and the pool were lovely and well-stocked. We really appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was with both a Keurig and regular coffee pot, all sorts of kitchen gadgets and serving platters, various pan sizes and so much more! The 8 of us used every square inch of the house for conversations, reading, games, viewing the sunsets and sunrises, meals and general relaxation! Everything in the house was in good working order and the furniture was comfortable and clean. The views for sunsets and sunrises were outstanding from the rooftop deck and the proximity to the beach was great! The beach directly in front of the house has large rocks blocking the access, but a 100 foot walk down the shoreline is all that's needed to find better ocean access. We loved all of the various beaches on the island, morning hiking in the preserve, shelling at the sandbar, and a couple lunches and dinners at Mainstays and Over the Waterfront. Ice cream at Mainstays was also a nice evening treat for our group! We loved North Captiva Island and would definitely consider a return not only to the island but to Serendipity should we do a group or family vacation again!

Great remote island getaway!

This was an awesome spot. The island is beautiful and full of wildlife. It’s remote and adventurous. The house was excellent. Clean and nicely decorated. The pool is great! It’s one of the few screened in pools on the island, allowing us to swim when the mosquitos are out! Loved everything about this trip! Thank you!

Wonderful Holiday Getaway

We stayed with our best friends in this amazing house and it was such a fantastic, unexpected last minute getaway! We had friends staying only a short walk or golf cart ride away as well and it was so easy to travel about the Island. The easy pace, the friendly locals, the cool shops, and of course the spectacular weather we had while there, made our trip incredible! Our kids were in the pool any time we were not at the beach and the kitchen was where many fabulous meals were created by our talented chefs (aka our husbands). We spent every evening on the rooftop watching the sunset and I even got up early enough to see the sunrise - it was all so remarkable! There is more than enough space to have privacy in separate decks, screened in porch as needed and great large spaces to play games and gather. Sarah communicated directly to us and was very responsive, Laurie and Duncan were very attentive and helped make our stay even more carefree by helping us get additional groceries! Jorge was fantastic too - we've never seen anyone carry so many heavy packages up and down those stairs so quickly. We highly recommend this extraordinary home and will hopefully have the opportunity to stay there in the future!

It was a wonderful house with lots of space!

It was easy to book and Tortuga Property was great to work with us when we got to the Island. It was the perfect place for a getaway with all our family!

Family Getaway

Lovely home, especially enjoyed the evening sunsets on the roof every night ...spectacular. large family room which was used nightly for lots of games and discussions around meals. Kitchen was well stocked although the knives could use a sharpening. The pool area is huge and we enjoyed playing cornhole and other games while lounging poolside. wonderful vacation! Thanks!
