This gorgeous country home is fully landscaped and set on more than 3.5 acres of varied mature trees with a fenced backyard. Enjoy the peaceful neighborhood from either the front or back wide, deep covered porches with lots of seating on both. Back porch also offers a long wooden dining table. Abundant wildlife entertains guests (think squirrels circling tree trunks) and adds to the relaxing vibe (birds singing and darting about). The stone firepit is set on a raised wooden deck with deck chairs, bench seating, and a picnic table. Firelogs and roasting forks provided. Enjoy a 19 ft Hot Tub - SwimSpa is heated in both spa and swim unit, making it a yearround attraction. Propane deck heaters are provided in the cooler months. All is crisscrossed by dimable bistro lights for that magical nightitme experience. This gracious home has floor to ceiling windows in main living area overlooking covered back porch and woods. Gas log fireplace is cozy on cool season nights or early mornings. Three bedrooms, two baths and one half bath are located downstairs. These include ensuite baths. Two bedrooms, one bath, and living area with additional sleeping options (Daybed with trundle) are upstairs. Also upstairs is a delightful play closet for your imaginative children. Two large dining areas are outfitted with long antique tables seating 8 at each comfortably. A coffee bar complete Keurig and standard coffee maker is conveniently located in the Living Area. The updated large kitchen has a 9 ft serving and prep island, an induction range, and is fully equipped with service service items for a crowd, appliances, and almost anything you need to prep the meals you desire. A whole house standby generator will kick on in the event of power outage. Property is located on a culdesac road, and has a double wide long drive for multiple cars. A pickleball court is painted on the drive, and a basket call goal is available. If you love walks, there are moss covered trails meandering through the woods behind the home, crossing over several wooden bridges. Come enjoy the warmth and charm of this country estate. Only one hour east of downtown Dallas off I-20 and 40 minutes west of Tyler in beautiful East Texas wooded country! Located about 3 miles east of Canton, it is just minutes to Canton's famous First Monday Trade Days and a variety of restaurants, most within 10-15 minutes. This house and property is amazing! I have never stayed at a VRBO with the care, amenities and attention to detail that this property provided. The hosts’ communication with us during our stay, as well as prior to our arrival, was second to none. The home accommodated all of our needs and then some, as well as providing comfort and a welcoming environment. We had all of the comforts of being at home while enjoying our getaway. After a long day at Canton Trade Days and being in the sun all day, it was such a treat to relax and get refreshed in the pool while also enjoying the beautiful landscape surrounding the home. Country Peace

We stay at Country Charmer 2 to 3 times a year when visiting family. Love our morning coffee on the porch and dinners on the back deck. Swimming makes it even more fun. Lots of games, toys and an upstairs play area for grandkids. Very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Girls trip

The house was lovely, and everyone in our group had a bed to sleep in. The beds were all very comfortable and everyone slept very well. It is very quiet and peaceful. The location is perfect if you plan to go to the Trade Days; it's only about a 15-minute drive.The home had everything that we needed. Several people in our group took advantage of the hot tub. It is not a huge hot tub, but there was enough room for two or three adults at a time.The generator worked perfectly, and we were never without power during the storm that came through.Please be aware that there is an additional cost for insurance at the time of booking. This is not part of the listed on the VRBO initial page. It is reasonable, but something to be aware of if you are dividing the cost.

Love Our Time At Country Charmer

When we come to Texas to see family this is where we stay. Upon arrival everything is set to bring you into a beautiful home in the country filled with peace and caring. The Reese’s go out of their way to meet your needs throughout your stay. The pool spa is a relaxing benefit, plus coffee in the mornings on their front porch. During warm nights we eat on the back deck at the picnic table all while listening to birds and lights lit for a perfect setting.

I stayed here with a group of ladies for Canton First Monday Trade Days. It was an excellent property! The property was extremely clean, had everything you could need, and the hosts were extremely helpful and responsive! There are lots of bedrooms and bathrooms which make an excellent place for a group. We really enjoyed the hot tub each evening after a long day of shopping!

The Perfect Country Place

Staying at the Country Charmer is an experience of comfort, fun, and relaxation. We come in town to visit our family with little grandchildren and this home makes us feel like our home. From the spa pool, toys, and play area for the kids, a kitchen that has everything I need to cook meals, endless tables inside and out for family gatherings, and every morning coffee on the front porch, our needs are more than met and then some. Bob and Connie Reese are the perfect hosts of their lovely home.

Peaceful Country Home

This country home was perfect for our two week stay visiting family. The pool and hot tub were a big plus for us and the grand kids. The Reese’s had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. The kitchen had everything we needed to have family dinners once we bought the food. Every morning we had coffee on their front porch. It is very quiet and peaceful. Nestled in country roads but only ten minutes from Walmart and shopping. Highly recommend.

Perfect Retreat

The Reese home was booked for a group of eight older ladies who were good friends and cancer survivors. I cannot express how perfect this home was. They had a fantastic time in a beautiful home with so many amenities. Bob is a wonderful host! I will book this again for the group!

Family Fall Festivities

This VRBO is AMAZING! Our family of 16 (8 adults and 8 kids) had the best time! Everyone loved the outside trails, the heated spa/pool, the two large porches, the large beautiful yard with deck and fire pit, the open living room/dining room with two large dining tables, so we could enjoy our meals together. All the bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. We stayed three days and two nights. At the end of our stay, we wish we had booked more days because we didn’t want to leave this beautiful serene property. The owners are great and very accommodating. We will definitely book this fabulous place again!

Girls Trip

This house was amazing. There was 14 woman who stayed here for our yearly girls trip to Canton. We have done this for ten years and this is by far the best house we ever stayed at. They have everything you could imagine you need and the pool/hot tub was amazing after walking and shopping all day. We loved it so much we already booked it again for next year. I also loved how the Host checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.

80-50-40-30-10 Celebration

Excellent property for our ages and clan. We have both "littles" from 6-10 and "bigs" from 19-23 to keep entertained along with the adults. There were all kinds of play things in the back yard all fenced in for fun play plus the hot tub/walking pool for all ages. The yard was big enough to set up Kubb for everyone to play. The large wrap porches made for family games and eating. Close enough for all to enjoy Canton"s Trade Days and the Alligator farm where we enjoyed the baby monkey encounter. We brought a jet ski for a nearby lake but barely got out before weather turned bad. We saw a raccoon on the dry river bed plus enjoyed bird watching. Even though there are nearby neighbors you feel seculuded with all the trees and shrubs and walking path. Thanks to the Reece family for sharing this with us!

Quiet Country Retreat

Our entire family loved the house and the pool and just being together. Our family of 8 couples and 2 small children enjoyed the large living room, multiple dining areas and your spacious outdoor living. The two porches and deck had lots of seating area. The pool was bigger than we thought it would be and the one year old had a blast “swimming” from person to person. We took several trips into town (10 mins away) to enjoy the dining, shopping, and the Pony Expresso coffee house. There was a farmers market on Saturday to explore and the Kneady Woman bakery was delicious. We took walks, ran, and strolled the baby to see the horses and goats down the road, played pickle ball in town and went to the city lake for a stroll, next time we will bring our fishing rods. Everything was provided at the house including towels at the pool. We will not hesitate to rent again. Thanks for a great week!

Perfect for large groups!

We always enjoy staying at the Reese Homeplace for our group gatherings! It's spacious and quiet, and from the many trees, you'd never know you were in a neighborhood. Their home is the perfect setup, and always so beautifully cozy. They had everything we needed and more for 9 adults. We didn't have any children this time, but if we had, there would've been plenty for them as well. Reese Homeplace really is the perfect place to stay!

Girlfriend Getaway

I recently arranged a stay at this Country Charmer for an annual "Besties" trip and could not have been more impressed. The home was spotlessly clean, secure, and located in a private country setting that was still close to all the activities we wanted to partake in. The beds in all the rooms were extremely comfortable, making for a great night's sleep after all the fun we had during the day exploring Canton Trade Days and nearby wineries. The swim spa was a bonus to relax in and the oversized tables were great for our party of eight to enjoy meals and games. What really stood out to us was the level of care and attention the owners, Bob and Connie Reese, put into their rental. They have gone above and beyond to provide every possible need for their guests, from ample kitchen supplies to cozy blankets to curl up in after a day of exploring. If we had any questions, the owner was readily available and easy to communicate with. They even checked in on us to make sure our stay was going smoothly. All in all, we highly recommend this property as the perfect place to stay during your upcoming travels. You won't find a more comfortable, welcoming, or well-appointed rental anywhere else in the Canton area!

Amazing Birthday Weekend

We stayed at the Reese’s house for a four day weekend to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Every year we have been married I have tried to create the best birthday possible for her as birthdays were hard for her when she was a child and I want her to feel as special as she makes every one around her feel. Our stay at the Reese’s was one of the simpler things we have done over the years, but she came away firmly touting this as her best birthday ever. I was pretty hesitant to spend the amount of money listed on VRBO for four days in a house with just our family and a few visiting friends. I saw all the amazing pictures and amenities, but I couldn’t tell from the pictures how perfect this place would be. From the luxurious gourmet kitchen to the extremely comfortable beds to the really well stocked coffee bar and multiple huge dining room tables, this place had it all! The outdoor space was everything you could ask for as well. The spa pool and hot tub were exactly as shown and described and our kids could hardly stay out of it. There was also a great playground and multiple walking trails in the woods that the kids loved. The outdoor area was very kid friendly as they had gates with locks and keys stored in high places to keep kids from wandering around where they shouldn’t be. We adults thoroughly enjoyed the ample outdoor seating and beautiful views on the back and front porch, and we definitely didn’t let the kids have all the fun with the spa either. This is an amazing house and we could not have been more pleased with the experience. There are photos of the Reese’s large family everywhere and the love in those pictures and throughout the home is palpable. The Reese’s were also great about communicating with us on everything from pre-arrival info to check in to prompt responses on any questions we had. If you read this review and any of the other reviews here, it should be evident that this place is uniquely special and very much worth a stay. We feel so blessed to have spent a long weekend in the Reese’s Homeplace as it was the best home away from home we ever could’ve asked for. Thanks again Mr and Mrs Reese!

Home away from home

Our group of 11 girlfriends have been coming to Canton for 12 years to shop first Monday. Once we found this beautiful home for our getaway we wouldn’t choose anywhere else for our getaway. The home is always very clean and organized. There is plenty of room for all of us to sleep very comfortably. The coffee bar is one of our favorite amenities. Thanh you again for having us!
