Our room did NOT look as good as the one in the picture when I booked through Travelocity. The room smelled musty, linens are average, bed skirt was ripped and the TV is cable only that seems to be stuck in the 1990's. It was hard to open the two front windows and when my husband did, there was dust caked on the window sill. The fridge has no freezer section for ice packs. We won't be staying here again. Getting tired of hotels that charge a lot of money for a bait & switch photo.

The area is perfect. The floors in the place are dirty. The windows are hard to see out at the ocean because they are dirty. One window don’t shut all the way so it’s great for critters to get inside.

I was given a room and then the office called and said that the room I was in was getting new carpet in the morning so I needed to move. I left my water bottle in the first room so I went to get it and as it turned out there was another couple in the room. They lied to make me move so they could give the room to someone else. Then after checkout I didn’t get my $50 deposit back with no explanation. It was not a good stay.

My room was very cold. There was a fireplace but that was the only heat in the room. I did not want to sleep all night with it on. No thermostat or heating system. I told the front desk in the morning I was very cold and they said they have space heaters on request.

Excellent stay at the Fog Catcher Hotel. Clean, friendly, comfortable room. Very close to the beach and shopping. Staff were polite, friendly and very accommodating. Great place to stay in Cambria.

Lovely property right on beach walk!! A couple of restaurants walking distance. Would be nice to have some coffee available in office and some liquid creamer. Powdered creamer is not a good option.

Better than expected

Our 'partial ocean view' room had a better view than I expected. The refrigerator, microwave, and table allowed us to enjoy leftovers from restaurant meals as well as take-out. This hotel is older than most along Moonstone Beach, but seems to be well maintained.

Hot and unhelpful

The hotel was OK. The check in was terrible, the desk attendant was not helpful. It was Valentine’s Day and I asked for wine glasses, or at least glasses in general and was told none were available. When I left, I exited toward the “breakfast” area. There were wine glasses in the area, so I grabbed them from there. The room did not have a thermostat, only a switch for the heater. We cooked our bits off, turned it off, froze, turned it on cooked etc. not going back.
