Cabin

The cabin was a great experience for me and my siblings! Everything was very nice and thoughtful, the location was beautiful! The river was on the other side so don't expect to fish or swim without a bit of climbing and walking through plants. Also the train tracks were a very nice walk and through our trip we never saw the train. But there was multiple spots around that where great for hiking and walking around town. The stairs don't have any carpet so be very careful on them as most of the beds and entertainment are up stairs. This is a great spot, as we had never been to West Virginia before but I truly believe that this was a little slice of heaven!

Cozy and Secluded

Overall it was pretty good a few minimal issues. I contacted the property manager about the maintenance room and that there was a random light behind the locked door that goes on and off which was kinda weird but no reply. There was also one pillow case in the downstairs bedroom that had what looked like blood on it. There was a Mattress under the daybed which was actually a box spring with a pad on top not conducive to sleeping on.

Perfect stay for our family!

We visited over the holidays with our family and were inpressed with the cabin! Plenty of room for thebkids to play and they loved the toys that were included!We had a few minor issues but the hosts were quicl to communicate and resolve them. Can't wait to stay here on our next trip!We

A Great Getaway

We stayed 2 nights over Labor Day weekend and everyone had a great time. We had everything we needed and the cabin was clean and nice. The hosts are wonderful. I highly recommend this property.

Muskie Lounge

The cabin was nice and clean. The stairs are a bit steep but we was able to manage them. The check out was at 11 am so it was nice not be to rushed when leaving. Check in was super easy also. We had everything provided to make our stay very comfortable. The river was just a short walk to do some fishing.

This property is very quiet and everything was in the house that we needed. Only issue was we had 2 older people that were not able to get up the steps and that is where the couch is. Only place to sit downstairs is the kitchen table. Other than that everything was great.

River Stay

Property was a great home base for our family in the Buckhannon area to visit family. Quiet place-especially since the trains do not seem to be running anymore(coal mine closed). Hosts were quick to respond to a request, and exceeded our expectations.

Wedding Trip

We had a great stay here at the Muskie-Lounge River Retreat!! We were here for my son’s wedding. The cabin was clean and ready when we arrived. The Tenney’s were flexible on check-in times and allowed us to get in a bit early to be able to shower/change from traveling before our rehearsal dinner. Evenings spent on the deck around the fire was very relaxing!! Would for sure bring the family back again!

Wonderful getaway in the woods

The house was clean and ready for use. Lots of beds and spaces for sleeping for larger groups. The house was a little cold but there was an electrict fireplace so the upstairs was always nice and cozy. We had a fire outside the last night and enjoyed the outdoors. Priperty is conviniently only 15 minutes away from grocery stores/gas stations/ etc. There was some cleaning we had to do before check out but it was not too bad. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.

Lovely family getaway

Great experience! Clean, Wi-Fi hotspot provided as requested, excellent communication with property owners throughout as they answered questions quickly and offered recommendations. Upstairs stayed cool with window A/C and ceiling fans, although I recommend bringing an extra box fan for any hot sleepers (one fan was provided with property, but we’re a bunch of hot-sleepers). Beds were comfy, free firewood offered was extremely thoughtful. We had a lovely stay and recommend staying here.

Middle of nowhere not far from anywhere!

A great experience that isn't really far from any of the area's attractions while feeling like you've retreated to your own personal little valley... very reasonable accommodations for 1 person, 1-3 couples, and even some kids if you had them with enough common space plus places to retreat off to for sleeping and bathroom coverage needed with 2 fulls. Really neat secluded hillside spot just a short drive to groceries and thoroughfares. Our purpose was to visit the asylum in Weston and the excursion train in Elkins; both were a very easy day-trip-level drive to/from. Did not experience any problems during the visit; thank you!

Great Cabin

This was an excellent place to stay. Communication was good and they gave helpful suggestions about local activities. Their directions were helpful, and clean up instructions were clear. The cabin was very nice. We enjoyed our stay.
