Amazing hotel with comfy beds and spacious rooms. My only complaint is the food - ordered an in-room dining dish which came half cold, there weren't a whole lot of options at breakfast compared to other 5 star hotels and people in my travel group had problems ordering coffee at breakfast (waiters got the order wrong 3 times). Other than this the staff at the counters and valet were all very friendly and I would stay here again.

Great Cyclone Prep &Shelter but missed amenities

We stayed at the Westin during Cyclone Alfred because we could not go to the coast, checking in on Wed. March 5th. The hotel had shut down all services except gym and one restaurant on that Wed. despite the change in the forecast to Friday landfall. We asked if the pool could be re-opened without the bar and were denied. The cyclone landfall was pushed 3 days and we spent time outside because the weather was not bad enough to close the pool area. The hotel staff did an awesome job of prepping for the Cyclone but did not have a re-opening plan and we stayed until the Monday without have the lobby bar or pool re-open and the same warnings remained up from Friday. The hotel itself was super humid and uncomfortable with a sewer smell by Sunday. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the staff did their best to be helpful. The gym stayed open but was hot and the wifi does not work there. Again the GM and duty manager were well prepared to deal with the Cyclone landfall but the other hotels has their bars and amenities re-open while there was no sign of the same here when we left on Monday. And we paid more than regular price of some of the nights.
