Riverview Retreat at The Wanderer
Welcome to the Riverview Retreat at Wanderer Guesthouse. The Riverview Retreat is one of six unique suites that has its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and a private deck. In the evening, unwind at either of the two outdoor firepit areas on the property. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we're 5 minutes to downtown Blowing Rock and 10 minutes to downtown Boone. Minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we're the perfect launching point for outdoor adventures. The Riverview Retreat is a cozy blend of comfort and privacy at the Wanderer Guesthouse. Your suite has two queen bedrooms, a full kitchen, living space, a bathroom, and the best of all: a private deck. You can hear the sound of the stream right on the property. Please note: to access Riverview Retreat, you must go down two flights of stairs. Your suite is private and set apart from the other suites (one floor above you), but you’ll also have access to a community firepit and picnic area to the left of the parking lot. Boone and Blowing Rock are the High Country’s hub for outdoor activities all year long. Choose between hiking, mountain biking, floating down the New River in inflatable tubes, berry picking, alpine roller-coaster riding, picnicking with wild ponies at Greyson Highlands, or cooling off in one of the many swimming holes and waterfalls in the area. During the winter, spend the day on one of the three ski slopes in the area (9 minutes from Appalachian Ski Mountain). Several wineries are tucked away in the mountains nearby, as well as breweries, shops, restaurants, and art galleries. No matter what you love to do or what season it is, you’ll find adventures to fill your days.

The unit was nicely decorated with plenty of towels in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable; however, the smaller room's bed had leaves in the sheets and dirt or mud on the rug. The information shared on the website stated two sets of steps, but didn't clearly describe that there were a lot of very steep steps with little lighting. It was a hard and treacherous climb down in the dark. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and it was close enough to ASU to be convenient, but I wouldn't recommend this location for people with little children, the elderly, or anyone with physical limitations.

Peaceful woodsy retreat
I was looking for a peaceful woodsy retreat for my son and I while checking out Tweetsie, and this place did not disappoint! The space was clean and super cute. Even though rain prevented use of the firepit, it made for good salamander hunting near the creek out back. Will definitely be back!

A+ OUTSTANDING Riverview place
"I recently had the pleasure of renting this home for a vacation and I cannot sing its praises enough! From the moment I booked, the host's communication was top-notch - prompt, friendly, and informative. Upon arrival, I was blown away by the immaculate cleanliness of the property. The instructions and information provided beforehand were crystal clear, making check-in a breeze. The thoughtful touches, like a welcome dry breakfast and fresh eggs, made us feel right at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. The property was stocked with everything we needed and more - it truly felt like a home away from home! And the cherry on top? The soothing sound of the nearby river, which added an extra layer of tranquility to our stay. Overall, I highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a relaxing, comfortable, and well-appointed vacation rental".
