Did not stay due to me being unable to get up stairs 4 flights i have a tmour in femur and a pho oa with lifts and a pensioner only suitable ground floor room they had was back view when i irdered sea view for our anniversary they would not refund me told me try hotels.com expedia 5 hys tryinh you then you said you tried reservations gone home o also rang carol head of it was so rude and not understanding at all hope she never gets old or has cancer was very rude manorism will never go to either afain or ypurselves terdible service all round

parking was good, sea view was good although would have been nice for a bay window to sit in. Food was excellent and the entertainment was excellent. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and tell friends about it.

Hotel was in a good position for some attractions (south pier and pleasure beach) and tram stops were more or less opposite the hotel. Nice clean seaview room, comfy beds and tea and coffee facilties. Food was excellent with good choices and quality products used. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the nightly entertainment was excellent with guests having the option to reserve seats for their stay which is ideal as the hotel entertainment is open to non residents for the evening shows. Good parking available at front of property.

Booked two nights, Friday 12th until Sunday 14th September 2025. Price paid £364.90. Stayed in room 125 when we entered the room the curtains were closed nice evening meal the staff were helpful and friendly. I was taken ill went to bed 7:30pm. Had an uncomfortable night in the very hot room above the cabaret room. The next day my wife opened the curtains, the open window and the very close fire exit stairwell was full of pigeon droppings. Went reception I was told porter will show you another room and move your suitcases waited 2 hours for porter, the porter did not turn up. Reception took us to a different room we moved our own suitcases. Met with duty Manager, I produced images then explained droppings are dangerous in humans, and it causes blood infections in patients with PICC line and cancer, in addition my wife has COPD. She said the pigeon droppings had got nothing to do with the room. I pointed out the droppings is affecting the room environment; illnesses are typically contracted by breathing in contaminated airborne particles. The fire escape outside the window appears very unsafe with that amount of pigeon droppings. The manager said we do not check every room, the area is cleaned once a month and insisted the pigeon droppings does not affect the room or it's occupancy. Shame on the Viking Hotel duty Manager and Choice Hotels Ltd she represents for letting the room too anyone, healthy or unhealthy.

Overall good stay

The rooms are in need of an update the mattresses feel like you’re going to roll off the edge of the bed because there’s no side support! The rooms are really warm too! Had a great check in until they said they had no hot water and was giving everyone a £5 drink voucher to make up for it! Luckily I’d showered before I went and it was back on the next morning! Breakfast great, everything you could want really apart from the coffee machine drinks were horrible! Buddy Lee is the best medicine anyone could have he’s hilarious daft and so entertaining! The guy behind the bar with the wrist splints was telling pretty inappropriate jokes in the small upstairs bar! Clearly thinks he’s missed his comedy calling! Overall we had a nice weekend I’d return but the main reason would be to see Buddy Lee!
