Room was clean,but needs repainting paticularly the skirting under the window. Bathroom was excellent. The main building of the house is very impressive. Staff were good too.

Unfortunately the room was very small it had a bath which was what we wanted however the room had problems but because we left do early next day we could not approach management room window would not close had yo put toilet paper to make it shut, also bathroom whole in ceiling and tiles on floor a few cracked must be due to tiles placed on floor boards

The main building was stunning. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Only thing was we had assumed our room would be in the main house but we were in a modern room in a separate building. You can request a room in the main house but there are only 6 double bedrooms. Gardens are lovely.Overall would recommend highly 😊

Very nice property, full of charm and character. The bedroom was a little dated, but the bathroom was superbly rennovated and very nice. Breakfast was nothing special - hence the 4 star rather than 5 - but suitable tasty and a decent choice.

The food at dinner was excellent. Cooked to order using quality ingredients, and a very good choice on the menu. My only gripe is someone put 2 beers on my bill. Maybe my fault as said my room number out loud, but maybe the bar staff should have known it was a different person. If the dishonest person who did it reads this then I got it refunded so the hotel lost out, not me.

Lovely room, but smaller than I expected. Woke up the first morning to find the windowsill covered in water due to condensation (we didn’t have radiator on). Second night, we left window open a little bit for air but windows still soaking so clearly a ventilation issue in the building (brew house). Also, walls are paper thin. Could hear everything next door was saying even though they weren’t being overly loud, just having a conversation. People upstairs were just walking around as normal but it sounded like a herd of elephants. Nice decor and amenities, homely feel but lack of sleep due to noise. Great restaurant - breakfast both mornings was amazing and we had dinner one evening which was soooo nice! So not all bad but could’ve been better for such a high end building.

The original room I was put in was depressingly out of date . Old furniture dark and freezing cold as no heating had been put on . It appeared the only room in a dank dark service area at the back of the hotel of the hotel. Went for dinner which’s in what could have been a glorious room . Again it was cold . Waiter was sweet but incompetent and didn’t listen or read order back and i ended up with two meals . I made a mistake at the top of the coach house stairs and turned ring way to the new room I was given, and opened the room of another guest with my key card . Receptionist was good sorting all of it . It was like and episode of faulty tower's but less funny another guest with my key card .dhe an

Just one night at this hotel but it was a pleasant experience. A slight hiccup that the sofa bed in our family room had not been made up for our teenage daughter, however upon flagging with Reception they moved us to a room that had a separate twin bedroom within it so our teenage daughter was pleased to have a bit of private space but safe within the confines of our main room. We stayed in the Coach House which was undergoing refurbishment but our room was freshly done, there was a bit of mess on the dressing table left behind by someone replacing a plug socket but no big deal. Good sized main bedroom and clean bathroom. Lovely period features throughout the hotel and our room was dog friendly as well. An extra star would have been given for some doggie facilities ie. bowl, blanket, dog treats in the room (although we were given some at breakfast). Nice grounds to walk the dog including a safe off lead space and a pleasant area to have breakfast with the dog. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

Our 2nd stay at this hotel, having also attended functions here. The rooms are individual and vary in size and layout, which is to be expected in a Grade 1 listed building. The change from individually cooked to buffet breakfast is a welcome one, and continental choice is good. Staff are polite, helpful and efficient. 2 points with the room were one of the bedside lights wasn't working, and the towel rail didn't appear to work, which we reported to reception. Neither of these detracted from a pleasant stay, but perhaps a bit of attention to detail when checking rooms are ready.
