1st Batam stay in ages

Loved my stay at Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Batam. The staff spoke fluent English and were generally polite. Chose this hotel cos it offers suite rooms that have microwave which is convenient to heat up leftover food. Appreciate the fact that the hotel also provides water dispensers available on every floor for guests. Especially loved that it is also linked to the Grand Mall Batam for easy shopping and eating.

On the whole, the hotel looks very posh and cosy. Toilet is of a good size and clean. But the room was rather small for 3 person(2D1C). There was this drilling going on through the night. I could hear/feel it even from the 19th floor.

We were genuinely surprised how highly tech the hotel was. Modern and cleaned. Conveniently located with grand batam mall right beside it. You are able to walk to the mall with the linkage shared between the hotel and mall with no issue. If you have a big family, hotel rooms can be linked with doors in between the rooms.

Hotel is right across from the Grand Batam mall which is argulably the newest and best mall in Batam. There are multiple massage and spa establishments nearby, and it is about a 15 minute cab ride from the ferry terminal. Hotel is new and feels that way. Only gripe I had was that the aircon didn't seem to get cold enough, and there was a strange smell in the lobby.

It was an exceptional experience. I was checked in and checked out by Ms Nara, who was super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed talking with all their counter staff in fact. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast spread was good and tasty. The location of the hotel was really good. Grand Mall Batam is just next door and connected with the hotel. Nagoya Hill Shopping centre is just a 5 mins drive away. There are also 3 really good Spas located just beside the hotel. All in all, it was a wonderful stay in the hotel and i would definitely bring my family here again.
