About this property

Harbour Bridge Views - Two Bedrooms on the Wharf

A spacious, beautifully positioned two-bedroom apartment on the western side of Princes Wharf — Harbour Bridge and Maritime Museum views from an expansive covered deck, king master with bathtub ensuite, twin second bedroom (king zip on request), coffee maker, dishwasher, in-unit laundry, air conditioning, dedicated workspace, and secure parking. The Viaduct, Ferry Terminal, and Britomart are steps away. Consistently praised for location, hospitality, and indoor spaces.

The western position in Shed 22 gives this apartment a view that is specific to this side of Princes Wharf — the Harbour Bridge arches across the horizon, the Maritime Museum sits immediately alongside, and the Waitemata Harbour opens to the west with the afternoon sun moving across it throughout the day. The expansive covered deck makes the most of this aspect: a proper outdoor room for morning coffee, long lunches, and the kind of evening that starts with a glass of wine and ends much later than planned.

A note on the waterfront soundscape: Princes Wharf is an active working harbour. Guests in this apartment may hear harbour activity — ferry horn signals, occasional waterfront noise, and the general movement of a working port — particularly at certain times of day. This is stated directly so guests can make an informed choice. The majority of guests have found this entirely acceptable and part of the genuine waterfront experience that this address uniquely delivers.

The king master bedroom has its own private ensuite with both a soaking bathtub and a separate shower — a proper luxury combination that is genuinely uncommon in Princes Wharf apartments and consistently singled out by guests. Quality hotel linen, good natural light, and the western harbour outlook make this a bedroom that earns its place. The second bedroom has twin beds that can be zipped together to form a king on advance request, served by a well-appointed second bathroom.

The open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area is spacious and well-resolved — guests consistently highlight the indoor spaces as a standout feature, and the space earns it: bright, well-furnished, with a Smart TV, dedicated workspace, air conditioning, and high-speed WiFi. The kitchen is fully equipped for proper self-catering: oven, stovetop, coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, and all the essentials. In-unit washer and dryer add self-sufficiency for longer stays. Secure parking is included.

Princes Wharf is one of Auckland`s most storied addresses. Built in 1929 and named after Admiral Earl Jellicoe, the wharf was for decades the city`s primary point of arrival and departure — the place where ships from around the world docked, and where generations of New Zealanders arrived, departed, and said their goodbyes. During the Second World War the wharf served as headquarters for United States forces in the Pacific. The shed buildings that line the wharf today are the survivors of that era — long, beautiful warehouse structures sympathetically converted into apartments, restaurants, and bars by Leuschke Group Architects in 1998, one of Auckland`s most celebrated waterfront regeneration projects.

Today Princes Wharf is home to Somm wine bar and restaurant, Wahlburgers, and a collection of waterfront dining and drinking venues that make the wharf one of Auckland`s most enjoyable evening destinations. The New Zealand Maritime Museum is immediately at the base of the wharf — one of the most rewarding museums in Auckland and a natural first stop for guests. Free public viewing decks at the end of Shed 23 offer panoramic harbour views available to all.

The entire apartment is yours — both bedrooms, both bathrooms, kitchen, open-plan living and dining area, dedicated workspace, expansive covered deck with Harbour Bridge and Maritime Museum views, and one secure car park.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Self check-in via key safe — full instructions and codes will be sent the day before your arrival. Early check-in can often be accommodated subject to availability — please enquire at booking.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

For those non-urgent like-to-haves, just give us a call or a quick message and we will do everything we can to make this your most memorable trip to Auckland yet.

Princes Wharf connects directly to the Viaduct Harbour precinct — one of Auckland`s most celebrated waterfront dining and entertainment areas. Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Giraffe, and the full sweep of Viaduct waterfront restaurants and bars are a very short walk along the boardwalk. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is immediately adjacent for Waiheke Island, Devonport, and Hauraki Gulf services. Guests consistently praise the walkability and the nearby dining as standout features — location has been mentioned in more than 35 individual reviews.

Commercial Bay`s flagship retail and dining complex is a short walk east along Quay Street, as is Britomart`s cobblestoned laneways. Wynyard Quarter`s North Wharf dining precinct and Silo Park are an easy westward stroll. The New Zealand Maritime Museum is steps from the door. The CBD`s Queen Street, Sky Tower, Aotea Square, and the Auckland Art Gallery are all within comfortable walking distance.

Princes Wharf is one of Auckland`s most walkable waterfront addresses. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is immediately adjacent for Waiheke Island, Devonport, and all Hauraki Gulf services. Britomart Transport Centre is a short walk with full train network connections. Secure parking is included for guests arriving by car. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.

A complimentary starter pack is provided on arrival — a small selection of tea, coffee, milk, and bathroom essentials to get you settled comfortably from the moment you arrive. Supermarkets and convenience stores are nearby for any additional supplies you need during your stay.

Weekly and monthly discount rates are available and apply automatically to longer stays.

A private airport transfer can be arranged at additional cost — please get in touch at least 48 hours before your arrival and we will organise it for you.

To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving — this takes just a couple of minutes.

This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout — including the deck and all common areas. No parties or events.

Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM.

Princes Wharf occasionally hosts large cruise ships at the adjacent berth. When a vessel is in port, the wharf becomes busier than usual during the day. Arrivals and departures are publicly listed on the Port of Auckland schedule and we are happy to advise on upcoming visits if this is something you would like to plan around.

Princes Wharf is an active working waterfront. Guests may hear harbour sounds — ferry horn signals and general waterfront activity — at various times of day. This is part of what makes a genuine waterfront address distinctive.

The twin beds in the second bedroom can be zipped together to form a king bed on advance request — please let us know at the time of booking if you would like this arrangement, as it cannot be set up on the day of arrival.
We kindly ask all guests to help us maintain the peaceful, high-standard environment of this home by following a few simple rules:

A valid photo ID, email address, and phone number are required prior to check-in.

Please respect our no-party policy and observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the apartment, building, complex or balcony.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.

Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!

These measures ensure that every guest enjoys a serene, premium experience — thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Location -walking distance to restaurants and shops was fantastic. View of harbor from the large covered patio was awesome. Loved morning coffee out there. Host went above and beyond when an earring fell in a floor drain. Sent over a plumber who was able to retrieve it. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

An amazingly spacious property centrally located

This is a stunning property and very comfortable and spacious. It's fully equipped and we loved being there. The only downside was the live music in a nearby venue on Friday and Saturday night. The management company kept in touch and replaced the toaster which wasn't working. I would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again if we return to Auckland.

New Year at The Viaduct

Spacious with a nice view. Well appointed. Car parking complicated, especially as instructions direct to do a U turn at a No Entry point and proceed down a one way route in the wrong direction. Building management made changes some weeks ago apparently. Balcony had not been cleaned and we picked up some chips of broken crockery.

Beautiful apartment in vibrant edgy marina area

A great well appointed apartment with a sensational outlook from the balcony. However very noisy at night with thumping music and people partying and during the day with workmen drilling in a next door apartment. Very quiet when we woke in the mornings though. It was beautiful. The written instructions on how to navigate the garage were sadly insufficient and it was a 40 minute nightmare trying to find our car park with the one way arrows. We mastered it after that. The Viaduct area is vibrant with easy access to restaurants overlooking the marina and to the ferry. Loved looking at all the yachts and colourful lights at night. It was a feast for the eyes. .
