To Whom It May Concern,Upon arrival, we met the property representative who showed us around the unit. From the beginning, he was not really welcoming. During the walkthrough, he informed us that there was no on-demand hot water and that we had to manually flip a breaker on and off approximately 20 minutes before needing hot water because “that’s how it works here.” We later discovered this was not true. The reality was that the property owner simply did not keep the hot water heater running consistently, seemingly to reduce electricity costs.We were also instructed by the property representative that we were not allowed to keep the air-conditioning running consistently either. Being told when and how we could use basic utilities that should already be included in a vacation rental was extremely uncomfortable and unreasonable, especially while trying to enjoy a vacation stay.In addition to the hot water and air-conditioning issues, the property itself was in terrible condition. The kitchen sink was backed up and would not properly drain. The bathtub was covered in mold around the edges, and whenever the tub drained, water would back up through the bathroom floor drain and flood the bathroom floor. We were not warned about this issue beforehand.
