When Xiamen makes an appearance out the plane window, it's time to tighten your seatbelt and prepare for landing at Xiamen International Airport (XMN).
While you can't casually walk to a hotel from the airport, you don't need to endure an expensive cab ride either. You will find 14 places to stay at that are a short distance away. Get over your jet lag at the Xianglu Grand Hotel, a comfortable stop that's only 2 miles (3 kilometers) away. It offers 24-hour room service and 24-hour concierge. The Xiamen C&D Hotel, 2 miles (3 kilometers) away, is a nice alternative.
Sometimes you need to stay within easy access of the airport but want more food outlets and other amenities than the terminal has to offer. Inquire into Huli and its 20 hotels. A couple of great establishments here are the Sheraton Xiamen Hotel and the Central Hotel Jingmin.
Planning on checking out the city while you're here? Grab a ticket for the train at 厦门高崎 and you'll be there before you know it. It's just 1 mile (2 kilometers) from the terminal.
Even though you may be in the middle of a layover, you should consider visiting the Wanshi Botanical Garden if you have time. After all, it's just 7 miles (11 kilometers) away.
Now that you're all set with where you are going and what you'd like to see and do, be sure to reserve your hotel as soon as you've confirmed your dates.
Although Xiamen Airport (XMN-Xiamen Intl.) offers no accommodations in the immediate vicinity, you're bound to find a great place if you broaden your search.
The Jinjiang Inn Xiamen Huli Qufu and the Xianglu Grand Hotel are good choices just outside of the airport. If you have some heavy bags, we'd suggest getting a lift. The former option offers travelers paid breakfasts, laundry services and business center facilities. The latter option has conference facilities, on-site beauty services and a garden.
