There are some lovely routes to explore in and around the village, including to The Howk, where you’ll find pretty waterfalls and the ruins of an old bobbin mill. You’ll also be perfectly placed for long-distance Cumbria Way passes close to the village. The vibrant Lakeland towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are within 17 miles, both offering a good range of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants. The beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake is 9 miles away. There are some fantastic family attractions nearby, including Go Ape in Whinlatter Forest (19 miles) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (9.5 miles).

The property has two inviting reception rooms, offering ample space for everyone to spread out and relax during the holiday. Come together in the cosy lounge/diner to plan the next day’s adventures in the glow of the wood burner, or retreat to the stylish snug to read a book or watch the Smart TV under the beamed ceiling. This room also has a warming wood burner for those chilly winter’s nights. When it comes to mealtimes, gather in the lounge/diner for an evening of delicious food and laughter around the elegant dining table. Rounding off the ground floor is a contemporary shower room. Upstairs, three beautiful bedrooms await, all with their own, unique style. Please note, the cottage has low ceilings in places, and you may experience restricted head height.
